Travel Photographer of the Year Press Release

NEW UK PHOTOGRAPHY COURSES, PLUS FREE IMAGE CRITIQUE SESSIONS FROM TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR

Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY) has introduced a broader range of courses this year in the UK and internationally. Whether you want to develop your people, landscape, wildlife or travel photography skills, you can join the photography experts behind one of the world’s most prestigious photography competitions in some of England’s prettiest countryside and most charming villages or on one of the international adventures in Japan, Tanzania, the Alps or Honduras. TPOTY can help you photographers strengthen their compositional and editing skills, to get the most out of their camera, or to really get to grips with Photoshop. There are courses for beginners looking to improve, for serious amateurs and for those looking to earn an income from their images.

To give a taste of what’s offer on TPOTY courses, TPOTY founder, professional photographer and photographic tutor, Chris Coe, is giving free image critiques at Intrepid Travel’s London Store on Sunday, February 17th. In each 25-minute session he’ll highlight the good - and bad - points of the images he reviews, and help the photographer understand how they can do even better next time. Book a spot, bring along four of your images - and learn from the expert! Chris’s work has been widely published in newspapers, magazines and books. He has shot over 40 travel and coffee table books and his book ‘The Art of Landscape Photography’ is widely used as a reference work. He has also presented photographic features for TV. If you’d like a taste of what Chris offers on his UK and international courses, and the chance to pick up some very useful photographic hints and tips, book online at www.intrepidtravel.com/events or visit Intrepid’s stand at Destinations, 31 Jan -3 Feb (stand R30).

Subjects include coastal landscapes, fascinating architecture, interesting and often humourous seaside details. Southwold itself has a charming pier and amusement arcade, a brewery and an inland lighthouse, colourful traditional beach huts and characterful fishing harbour. Across the inlet and reached by a small chain-link ferry is the village of Walberswick and its sandy beach beyond the dunes - all giving plenty to photograph and numerous opportunities to improve photography skills with Chris Coe and Nick Meers. There will be a dawn shoot on the second day.
