LEARN HOW TO BE A TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHER STANFORDS TRAVEL BOOKSHOP – TUESDAY OCTOBER 26

Ever dreamed of earning a living by travelling to far away places and taking photographs for travel companies, picture libraries and publishers? If so, paying for your adventures by selling those images need no longer be a pipe dream, thanks to a Travel Photography Master Class which is being held in London’s Covent Garden at Stanfords, the world’s leading specialist retailer of maps and travel books, on Tuesday October 26, 2010 at 7.30pm.

The event is timed to coincide with the launch of the Insight Guide to Travel Photography – How to Take Striking Images published by Insight Guides, who pioneered the use of images to communicate the atmosphere of a destination. Several contributors of this new Travel Photography Guide, professionals at the top of the tree, will be at the Master Class to pass on their insider tips.

2009 competiton winnerAmong those imparting expert knowledge will be Sylvaine Poitau who will be talking about portraiture and Martyn Goddard on landscape photography.  All photographers are favourite travel photographers of Insight Guides, as well as national newspapers and top glossy magazines.  Also revealing what he looks for in a photograph will be Insight Guides’ own picture editor Steven Lawrence.

Preceding the Masterclass will be a prizegiving of Insight Guides’ own annual travel photography competition, giving those interested in participating in next year’s competition a chance to see what they are up against.  First prize is a much sought after photographic commission with Insight Guides, worth £3,000, to photograph a travel destination for a future guide book, helping to pave the way for a new and exciting career in travel photography.
