Triggertrap has launched a new website where users can view, upload and share timelapse videos shot all around the world. The new platform, called Primelapse, was born from the first annual Triggertrap Hackathon held in May 2013. “For our inaugural Triggertrap Hackathon, we envisioned a day where we put aside our day-to-day routines and concentrate on individual Triggertrap-themed projects that would stretch our imaginations and maybe germinate into the next generation of Triggertrap awesomeness,” said CEO Haje Jan Kamps. “We had lots of cool things happen, but the first one we’re ready to launch to the world is Primelapse.com."

Triggertrap Launches Primelapse.com, Global Home for All Things Timelapse

Currently home to almost 1,300 timelapse videos posted by contributors representing more than 125 countries, Primelapse.com is a curated sharing site that offers inspiration, how-to tips, and community support for the global creative community

LONDON – August 1, 2013 – Triggertrap, developer of creative camera triggering solutions for photographers of all skill levels, announced today the launch of Primelapse.com, a platform where users can view, upload and share timelapse videos shot all around the world. Whether it's the passing of huge swathes of time in nature or breakneck journeys around the planet's most vibrant cities, Primelapse.com is now home to almost 1,300 videos from more than 125 countries.

Timelapse photography has always been a focus for the Triggertrap team.  In fact, making timelapse techniques more accessible to photographers of every skill level was the key motivator for Triggertrap inventor Haje Jan Kamps launch a Kickstarter campaign that successfully funded the first generation of Triggertrap products. While the more recent development of Triggertrap Mobile (available for both Android and iOS devices) added new creative triggering features, helping people create stunning timelapse videos has always been a key driving force for the company.

Timelapse photography has never been more visible or accessible, with amazing clips being regularly used to dramatically show the passage of time in everything from nature documentaries to hit TV series like Breaking Bad and House of Cards.  With such growing interest from creative and general consumers alike, the Triggertrap team wanted a place where they could share the videos they and their users had been feverishly cooking up. In the absence of a single, curated destination online, the team decided to make the space their own; and thus Primelapse.com was born from the first annual Triggertrap Hackathon held in May 2013, where the development team willingly sequestered themselves for the communal good.

“We had lots of cool things happen, but the first one we’re ready to launch to the world is Primelapse.com. Timelapse videos are objectively brilliant little things and we want to be the go-to destination for all things timelapse-y. Is that a word? It is now..”

For users who are new to timelapse photography, Primelaspe.com will walk them through each step of the creative process, from planning a timelapse shoot, to capturing the necessary frames before assembling the video and sharing it for creative feedback.
