Unscripted is a retrospective exhibition of works by photographer and Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) alumnus Karen Fuchs. Hosted by TheGallery, the exhibition will take place from 13 March - 24 April 2014. ‘Unscripted’ was first shown at M&C Saatchi, London during the 2012 Olympic Games and features a rare collection of unseen Usain Bolt images from 2004-11. Karen is the only photographer who extensively captured unique images of five-times IAAF World Athlete of the Year champion before he really shot to fame as one of the most successful athletes in the world. AUB is located two miles from the centre of Bournemouth, on the border between Bournemouth and Poole. Admission is free.

‘UNSCRIPTED’ BY KAREN FUCHS, A RETROSPECTIVE PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION FEATURING THE FASTEST MAN ON EARTH, USAIN BOLT

From 13th March – 24th April 2014, internationally renowned photographer and Arts University Bournemouth alumnus Karen Fuchs will be showcasing her retrospective exhibition ‘Unscripted’ in TheGallery.

Karen, who graduated from AUB in 1992, is a portrait, celebrity and advertising photographer who has been shooting internationally for the past 22 years. Her work has appeared on the covers of GQ, Sports Illustrated, Observer Life and the Guardian Weekend Magazine to name a few, and has been featured in The Sunday Times Magazine, Elle and FHM. She has shot advertising campaigns for Puma and Redbull and has created CD covers for companies including Virgin Records.

‘Unscripted’ was first shown at M&C Saatchi, London during the 2012 Olympic Games and feature a rare collection of unseen Usain Bolt images from 2004-11. Karen is the only photographer who extensively captured unique images of five-times IAAF World Athlete of the Year champion, Bolt before he really shot to fame as one of the most successful athletes in the world. The images show a rarely seen side of the star, unscripted, behind the scenes, with many taken in his native Jamaica. Several of these images have never been published or shown before. Karen’s passion, sense of style and ability to deeply connect with her subjects are reflected in the vibrant imagery she creates in ‘Unscripted’.

Fuchs, who has lived in New York for the past 16 years, travels extensively for her work, and it is her innate curiosity about the world and all it has to offer, coupled with an ability to relate to people that highlights her unique talent as a photographer, creating a visually stunning and colourful exhibition in TheGallery at AUB.
