Viewtyful World Photo Contest
LG’s Viewtyful World photo competition aims to encourage people to explore and capture their surroundings. The Viewtyful World winner’s work will feature in National Geographic magazine and they will receive a copyright fee of £5,000. There are three different themes, night view, retouch, and moments, and the contest will be will be judged by website visitors. Berkshire, 17 April, 2008 – LG Electronics, a worldwide technology and design leader in mobile communications, today announces its ‘Viewtyful World’ online photo competition for the LG Viewty, its 5-megapixel professional-level camera phone.
The ‘Viewtyful World’ competition aims to encourage people to explore and capture their surroundings on camera, focusing on three image themes; ‘night view’, ‘retouch’, and ‘moments’. Entrants simply upload their images to www.viewtyfulworld.com where their work will be judged by website visitors.
Each week, for eight consecutive weeks, two finalists will be selected via the online voting system. Weekly finalists will win an LG Viewty handset and have their work judged by a world-renowned National Geographic photographer, who will choose the grand prize winner. The ‘Viewtyful World’ winner’s work will feature in National Geographic magazine in an LG Viewty advertorial. They will also receive a copyright fee of £5,000.

LG developed this competition in association with Yahoo, subsidiaries Flickr and Kelkoo, and National Geographic magazine. People can enter the competition through the Viewty promotional site - www.viewtyfulworld.com.
The LG Viewty, which is now available in 60 countries worldwide has recorded impressive sales of over one million units in just four months since its European launch.
