Wacom updates Graphire3 Studio and Studio XL pen tablets with Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0

Krefeld 8.11.2004

WACOM Europe GmbH, the market leader in pen based digital imaging, today announces an update to the Studio and Studio XL versions of its Graphire3 range, aimed at digital photography and video enthusiasts. From mid-November, the Graphire3 package carrying the ‘promotion’ sticker on the front, will include an upgrade voucher for the recently launched Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0. Customers can go online and register by entering the code found on the voucher and the new software CD will be sent out from January 2005 onwards.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 provides improved support for pen tablet features. The pressure sensitivity of the Graphire3 pen can be configured to control the size, opacity, hue jitter, scatter and roundness settings more efficiently. The ?Healing Brush?, one of the most popular tools in Adobe Photoshop, is now also migrated into Photoshop Elements 3.0. Using the pen allows finer control when retouching scratches, imperfections and unwanted objects in an image.

Working in the PhotoBrowser of Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 with a pen and tablet, enables a more precise and faster selection of images. The Graphire3 also ensures absolute positioning, which means that a user can drag and drop far more quickly with the pen than when using a traditional mouse. This helps to organise and categorise photographs more easily.

The Graphire3 pen tablets have a resolution of 2,000dpi for enhanced precision in photo editing, video editing and graphics applications. The Graphire Pen has 512 levels of pressure sensitivity, offering pinpoint accuracy when working with digital photographs.

This Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 offer only relates to the Graphire3 Studio versions. The A6 size Graphire Studio and the A5 size Graphire Studio XL are bundled with:

Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 (for Mac 10.2.8 or 10.3 and Windows XP/2000) ? the photo editing programme, providing powerful photo editing functionality plus intuitive organising and sharing capabilities
penPalette LE from nik multimedia ? the photographic filter set
Pinnacle Studio 8 SE (PC only) ? the video editing and DVD authoring programme
ACDSee 5.0 ? the digital image management software
The Graphire Studio comes with a pen and the Graphire Studio XL includes a pen and ball-free mouse. Both input devices are cordless and battery-free.
