Outdoor Photographer of the Year awards spotlight on young talent

Since the introduction of digital cameras, photography has become much more accessible, which has resulted in an explosion of young talent. To stand out from the rest, young photographers must now capture truly outstanding images – and the Outdoor Photographer of the Year competition gives them the opportunity to showcase these… for FREE!

The Young Outdoor Photographer of the Year category is free to enter for those aged 18 and under. The category wants visually arresting images of landscapes or wildlife that matter most to the young photographer. As well as a head start in the competitive photographic game, there is £500 worth of Lee Filters vouchers up for grabs for the category winner.

Last year, Allessandro Oggioni was excited to be crowned Outdoor Photography magazine’s Young Outdoor Photographer of the Year. With rivalry high, at only 12 years of age, he beat off many older opponents and managed to capture this beautiful image of a fox in the snow in his native Italy [above].

Think you’ve got a better image? If you’re a keen photographer who’s 18 or under, or know someone who is, why not enter Young Photographer of the Year competition at: www.opoty.co.uk; it could be your moment.

Deadline for entries is midnight on 25th September 2011.
