Gallery Member Spotlight - Anvica

In the latest installment of this regular series, we cast the spotlight on members of the PhotographyBLOG Gallery and ask them about their photography. The 27th member to sit in the interview chair is Anvica.

What do you enjoy most about the Gallery?

Undoubtedly sharing comments and photos with the rest of the members is the best. I'm very glad to have joined the Gallery. At first I spent some days visiting it without registering, finally I decided to upload my first photo and immediately closed the site I was afraid to get feedbacks like: What are you doing here? This is a site for professionals". But next day when I opened my gallery and read the first comments It was fantastic! Thanks!

Do you think being a Gallery member has helped improve your photography?

Of course! Apart from many new technical things I have learnt with the help of these kind people, and more that I have to learn, there is something very important, the way to see. Since I have been involved in this gallery I have got an illness, I have called it Photitis, when I go walking in the street, to work, for shopping, etc., my eyes are looking for a new image look at this house this shadow this lighting in the bus Will it be serious?

What is your favourite kind of photography, and what is it that interests you so much?

I don't think I have a favourite, I'm learning and experimenting. Although there is a kind of photography that didn't interest me at all in the past and now I found it fascinating I have discovered B&W.

What kind of equipment do use now, and what did you start with?

I started very young, one of my uncles gave me a KODAK for my twelfth birthday. Some years later I bought my first reflex a PRACTIKA and when my first son arrived in my life I got a YASHICA with better lens. I started in the digital world with a FUJI A204, my intention was to use it not too much, but in a few months I have taken off the batteries of my poor YASHICA. Now I'm using a SONY DSC-H1, I'm very happy with it but I'm dreaming now NIKON D200, CANON EOS

Have you sold any of your Gallery photographs?

Sold? No, no I enjoy a lot taking photos, but I don't think my images could interest someone enough to pay for it. Only some friends have asked me for some of my shots, for calendars, etc.

If so, what has been your biggest sale?

To see a smile...sometimes surprise in the face of the people when I show my photos.

What is the one piece of advice that you would give to other budding photographers?

I'm not qualified to give any advice, but I can tell you a dream: One day I will open a photo in the computer and I will realize that I have not any edition to do then I would have made a very good job with my camera I'm very annoyed sometimes because I know that if I had paid more attention to the settings of the camera the result would have been better. The perfect shot is executed before pushing the button.
