Canon Connect Station CS100 Review

Conclusion

The Canon Connect Station CS100 offers a neat way to look at your images on your television, which if you don't already have, for instance, an SD card reader in your television.

It's also an easy - if slow - way to back up all of your images onto an external hard drive, especially if you have a Canon NFC device.

And there's the rub of it, the CS100 is best suited to those who have a complete Canon range of products in their kit bag. If you have other manufacturer made cameras, the NFC is useless.

While the interface of the Canon Connect Station CS100 is nice to look at, it's frustrating to use since you can't organise your photos properly. The fact that you can't sort into properly named albums, such as “Holiday 2015” for instance, make it a confusing process when you want to find a particular photo.

Perhaps Canon will improve the way the CS100 works via a firmware upgrade at the moment, but for now it feels like it's not quite been finished. It's also much more expensive than a standard hard drive offering the same 1TB of space, which is something else to bear in mind.
