Sharpness at 56mm

For these sharpness tests the Fujifilm 56mm R APD lens was attached to a Fujifilm X-T1 body, which in turn was mounted on a sturdy tripod. Slight tonal changes are due to slight changes in natural light during the session.

The centre is remarkably sharp wide-open at f/1.2, with peak performance achieved in the f/2.8-8 range. Diffraction is only noticeable by its complete absence, which means that you can safely use this lens at f/11 and f/16.

The edges are soft from f/1.2 through to f2, sharpening up sufficiently at f/2.8, with f/8 the optimum setting.
