MacPhun Focus 2 Pro Review

Performance
The Focus 2 Pro software gives some great results, especially if you're willing to put in a little time to get those results.
Some aspects of this software give more realistic looks than others, in particular the Tilt Shift option is great to use - and if you're after that look it can be very effective. On the other hand, Motion Blur can look a little unnatural around the subject in focus - and although this can be refined, it's quite fiddly to do this, especially as you can't zoom into the image when you're working on it to get a perfect selection.
If you're just looking to make quick edits for sharing on social networks, it's quite a fun piece of software, and it also works well as a plugin to make changes that perhaps weren't possible at the time of shooting.
Conclusion
Focus 2 Pro is very easy to use and understand - as is the case with most other MacPhun software - but it's also a little more gimmicky than some of the others on offer.
If you don't have a huge number of lenses in your kit bag, or want to change the look of a photo post shoot, this is good fun to play around with and it's certainly worth experimenting with the different settings available.
What is particularly good is the Tilt Shift effect, which is good news considering the price of the average tilt shift lens. On the other hand, selective blur and motion blur are a little more hit and miss unless you've got the patience to spend time working with the software to get exactly the look you want.
You won't be able to use this as you're only piece of editing software, but it's a nice plug-in for other software packages, such as Photoshop, particularly if you're keen on things such as the Tilt Shift effect.
