Sharpness at 50mm

For this test, the Nikon Z DX 16-50mm F3.5-6.3 VR lens was attached to a Nikon Z fc body, which was in turn mounted to a sturdy tripod. Exposure delay mode was activated. Tonal and colour variance across the crops are due to change in natural light during the session.

Centre sharpness is good wide-open at f/6.3 and excellent from f/8 through to f/16, with f/22 to f/40 being adversely affected by diffraction.

The edges aren't as sharp as the centre, with f/11 to f/16 producing the sharpest results.
