Great blog and a really good review. I have this lens now for about half a year, and it really is the best lens I got. It’s very bright and sharp and is especically good for portraits. The only inconvience I’ve encountered is that fixated 50mm lens, which can’t be changed. Because with a Olympus e-400, that I used before, I had a crop of 2.0, which makes it an equivalent of a 100m lens. Sometimes I really had to get far away from the model or object. But I agree, every Olympus User should own one. Especially because there aren’t that many cheap and good lenses out there for Olympus user…

Great review was interested in the performance at f22 - have done some product shots over the last couple of days using this lens at f22, happy with the results, however would be interested to drop back to f16 to see if there is any difference. I needed maximum depth of field for what i was shooting
In respect to the 35mm macro it represents great value for money I thought the results were not. can supply a couple of sample shots if interested

This is indeed an excellent macro lens, as everyone else here has attested to. The construction is rock solid and the lens isn’t heavy at all, which some reviews had led me to believe it would be.
