Think Tank Photo have just released a new addition to their Retrospective camera shoulder bag line. The Retrospective 6 fits a DSLR or gripped DSLR with short lens attached, one to two additional lenses and an 8” tablet or flash in the front pocket, or one to two Compact System Cameras with lenses attached, one to four extra lenses and an 8” tablet or flash in the front pocket. Weighing in at 2.6 lbs (1.2 kg), the Retrospective 6, is now available in Sandstone, Black, and Pinestone, priced at $154.75. Think Tank Photo has released the largest rolling photography equipment case on the market. Designed to hold an immense amount of gear, including lighting equipment and large light modifiers, one photographer will now be able to transport what it used to take up to at least two assistants. “Pro photographers usually travel by car or van to where they are going to shoot,” said Doug Murdoch, Think Tank’s CEO and Lead Designer. “Once a shoot is completed the set needs to be torn down and moved to the next location. MMD, and brand license partner for Philips Monitors, has announced a new display with UltraClear 5K resolution. Offering no less than 14.7 megapixels(5,120 x 2,880), the Philips 275P4VYKEB displaypacks four times as many pixels as Quad HDand over 50 percent more than Ultra HD. The new 27" display is also equipped with PerfectKolor Technology, which ensures factory-calibrated 99% Adobe RGB and100% sRGB colour space coverageand one billion colours. Thanks to 12-bit internal processing, colours are re-created smoothly and naturally, without gradations or the nuisance of banding effects. With advanced PLS technology, the display also features extra-wide viewing angles of 178 degrees. Fotodiox has announced the Wonderpana FreeArc XL - a comprehensive filter system for the Canon 11-24mm lens. Its aircraft-grade aluminium alloy lens collar allows photographers to attach a custom series of 186mm filter options including neutral density filters and polarisers. Additionally, photographers can add the WonderPana WP80 Filter Brackets to the WonderPana FreeArc XL to mount one or two square graduated filters at the same time as a round filter. Measuring 200mm x 260mm, the WonderPana FreeArc XL's square filters are the largest commercially available in the industry today. The WonderPana FreeArc XL retails for $229.95.

Squadrone System has announced the European launch of its HEXO+ autonomous drone. The HEXO+ flight system can take off, follow and frame its user while filming with predetermined camera movements, and safely land. These processes are entirely automated and simply initiated with the HEXO+ smartphone application. This allows users to capture the moment hands-free, as no bulky remote control is needed. Compatible with most GoPro camera models, the HEXO+ has a maximum speed of 45 mph and an operating altitude of up to 16,000ft. HEXO+ is currently available to purchase for €999.

Polaroid has released two new camera stabilisers for mobile videographers. Designed specifically for small action cameras, the Polaroid handheld 3-axis electronic gimbal stabiliser ($179.99, pictured) has three independent motors that follow camera motion in real time, automatically counterbalancing handheld motion to eliminate any vibrations and undesirable movements. The Polaroid power handgrip/stabiliser ($49.99) can be used with a wide range of digital and action cameras, and simultaneously charges the camera and keeps it steady when shooting on the move. Both models are available now from Amazon.

DJI today announced it will begin shipping the Inspire 1 RAW edition, featuring an aerial Micro Four-Thirds Zenmuse X5R camera, on 28th March. Shipping of standalone Zenmuse X5R camera, which records CinemaDNG files to a solid-state drive and is the world’s smallest lossless 4K camera optimised for aerial imaging, will start from 31st March.

Lexar today announced the new 200GB Lexar microSDXC UHS-I memory card. Designed for sports camcorders, tablets and smartphones, the UHS-I, U1 microSDXC card has read transfer speeds up to  95MB per second and comes with a USB 3.0 reader, which allows for high-speed file transfer of photos and videos from the card to a PC or Mac. The reader is also backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports and comes with a one-year limited warranty. The new card is currently available for purchase with an MSRP of £109.99.

Polaroid have unveiled a new "dive rated" waterproof underwater housing. Available for a wide range of Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic and Sony cameras, the new Polaroid underwater case is waterproof to a depth of 130 feet, and provides access to all camera controls. The housing can be purchased on Amazon for $99.99-$599.99, depending on model, and ships with a hand and neck strap, an o-ring and water sealing lubricant, and a manual.

Apple today introduced a 9.7-inch version of the iPad Pro tablet featuring a new pro Retina display with greater brightness, wider colour gamut, lower reflectivity, Night Shift mode and True Tone display technology. “iPad Pro is a new generation of iPad that is indispensable and immersive, enabling people to be more productive and more creative. It’s incredibly fast, extremely portable, and completely natural to use with your fingers, Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard. And now it comes in two sizes,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “The 9.7-inch iPad Pro has a new Retina display with True Tone technology, four-speaker audio system, blazing fast A9X chip, 12-megapixel iSight camera, 5-megapixel FaceTime HD camera, faster wireless, and support for Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard. Sony will showcase their new wireless lighting control system prototype at The Photography Show (TPS) 2016. Designed for compatibility with the manufacturer's interchangeable-lens cameras and external flash units, the new lighting system includes the FA-WRC1M wireless radio commander as well as the FA-WRR1 wireless radio receiver. With a maximum range of 30m, the new radio controlled system can control a maximum of 15 separate flash units in up to 5 groups.  Additionally, the new lighting control system will be capable of flash sync speeds of up to 1/250th of a second with high speed sync (HSS) available as well. The new Wireless Lighting Control system will be available in Europe in summer 2016. Pricing and detailed specifications will be released at a later date.

BenQ has launched a new 32” UHD video-editing monitor that features 100% Rec.709 and sRGB coverage, hardware calibration via an adjustable 14-bit internal LUT, and a high degree of brightness uniformity across the screen. The BenQ PV3200PT 32” 4K UHD has a built-in SD card reader and several USB 3.0 ports, and comes with a 5-year warranty. According to BenQ, the monitor achieves an average Delta E value of 2 and below in the sRGB colour space. The PV3200PT monitor is priced at £1,099 including VAT (RRP) and is available to purchase through Color Confidence and leading video retailers.

Toshiba has announced a new range of Exceria Pro UHS-II microSD cards alongside extensions to the company’s high-end Exceria Pro SD and Exceria microSD and SD card line-up. The new microSD M501 additions to this family are UHS-II-compliant microSDHC and microSDXC cards that meet the UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) standard and offer read/write speeds of 270MB/s and 250MB/s, respectively. The new 128GB Exceria Pro N401 SDXC UHS-I-compliant card also meets the UHS Speed Class 3 standard and features respective read and write speeds of 95MB/s and 75MB/s.
