TrustedReviews have reviewed the Canon PowerShot S3 IS, a 6 megapixel camera with an image stabilized 12x zoom lens, ISO 800 and a 2 inch LCD screen.
“Image quality is also superb. Despite only having a tiny 1/2.5in sensor, pictures are impressively sharp and detailed, far more than I would expect from a 6MP camera. In fact I’ve seen 8MP models that can’t match the S3 for fine detail, and this is undoubtedly due to the excellent lens. It is pin-sharp from edge to edge at all focal lengths, produces minimal wide-angle barrel distortion, and its fast maximum aperture ensures good shutter speeds at long focal lengths. Combined with the fast AF it provides pin-sharp shots even of distant moving subjects.”

ImagingResource have published their review of the 10 megapixel Panasonic DMC-FZ50 camera.
“The Panasonic FZ50 is more evolutionary than groundbreaking, which is actually good. Looking virtually identical to the FZ30, the Panasonic FZ50 has the same 12x optical (35mm to 420mm in 35mm format) lens as its predecessor but an uptick in resolution (of course), to bring it to the now de rigueur 10 megapixels. Also new on the FZ50 is the Venus Engine III LSI image processor which moves basic camera functions along at a fairly good clip while ostensibly reducing image noise when shooting at the camera’s maximum ISO 3,200 light sensitivity rating.”

ePhotoZine have reviewed the new Canon PowerShot A710 IS digital camera.
“Startup time is fairly speedy considering it has a 6x zoom to unfurl. It takes around three seconds from pressing the on button to being able to shoot. Aperture range is a standard f/2-8-f/8, and while the fastest shutter speed at 1/2000sec may not be spectacular it will cope with most situations. What’s better is that it can do a long exposure up to 15secs. Focussing is quite fast, usually taking only a second to lock onto something, even if it’s dark, when the red spotting beam then comes into play.”

Imaging Resource have published a review of the new 10 megapixel Canon PowerShot SD900 (also known as the Canon Digital IXUS 900 Ti).
“Like previous ELPHs, it’s comfortable not only to carry but to shoot with, easily managed with just your right hand. The Canon SD900’s new Mode dial design has a sculpted face that makes it easy to switch modes with just your thumb. And the Touch control dial can be set so it detects light pressure on any of its control points. The Display button has been moved up, just under the Mode dial, which has the benefit of leaving the Menu button all by itself under the Touch control dial, where you won’t confuse it with anything else.”

Steves Digicams have reviewed the wide-angle, 5x zoom Olympus FE-200 digital camera, a 6 megapixel model with a 28-140mm lens.
“While the Olympus FE-200 has the ability to capture nice photos, includes several user-friendly exposure modes, and offers a 5x optical zoom with a nice wide field of view, shooting performance is comparable to the speed of a snail at full sprint, which really turned us off.”

ePhotoZine have reviewed the new Canon G7, which features a 10 megapixel, 1/1.8 inch sensor, DIGIC III image processor, Face Detection, 35-210mm lens and optical image stabilization system.
“The ISO80 picture is very clean, with smooth tones and excellent sharpness. There’s some, very faint, signs of noise in the ISO100 picture, but nothing of real concern. It starts to appear more in the shadow areas of ISO200 pictures but is only quite noticeable in ISO400 mode. ISO800 is still sharp while being quite noisy, but when it gets to ISO1600, the noise level increasing significantly and the colours shifts as well.”

PopPhoto have reviewed the new Canon G7, which features a 10 megapixel, 1/1.8 inch sensor, DIGIC III image processor, Face Detection, 35-210mm lens and optical image stabilization system.
“So is the G7 for the Elpher looking to move up to a more feature-rich camera, or is it meant to be the pocket cam for the EOS enthusiast and pro who doesn’t want to let go of too much creative control when traveling light? Can one camera actually bridge the Elph-EOS gap successfully? In some ways yes, it can, but in some significant ways, the answer is no.”
