TrustedReviews have just reviewed the slim Casio EX-S770 camera, which offers 7.2 megapixel still images and records high-quality movies in MPEG-4 format.
“Image quality is also very good. Despite the terminally overcast weather I was able to take some decent test shots, and I was suitably impressed by the level of detail, colour rendition, exposure accuracy and noise control. The lens does suffer from very visible spherical distortion at its widest angle setting, but provides very good overall sharpness right into the corners, with no chromatic aberration visible. There was also a refreshing lack of colour fringing on high-contrast shots.”

DPReview have taken a look at the Canon Digital IXUS 850 IS (known as the Canon SD800 IS in the United States).
“So then, what Canon gives with one hand - the wider lens, better screen and other tweaks - it takes away with the other (reduced image quality). But the SD800 IS still has all the qualities I loved so much in the SD700; it’s fun, reliable, has image stabilization, is built and styled beautifully and it produces attractive, punchy results without the need for manual intervention.”

PCMagazine have just reviewed the new 10 megapixel Samsung NV10 digital camera.
“The camera fared well during lab testing. I didn’t find much noise in the daylight shots, but high ISO settings indroduced some colored noise. Pictures had pretty good color, with just a touch of purple fringing. My flash pictures displayed nice illumination with lots of detail in the highlights. The NV10 averaged 1,900 lines of resolution, which is excellent for a 10MP camera. There was no pincushion distortion to speak of, and just a touch of the usual barrel distortion.”

Lyra’s forecast now projects worldwide digital camera shipments to exceed 130 million units in 2010 for a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of more than 10 percent.

Steves Digicams have just reviewed the new Pentax Optio S7 digital camera, which features an easy-to-use Blur Reduction High ISO mode, Face Recognition AF & AE and 7 megapixel sensor.
“Indoors is where this little camera shines, except when needing the flash. These little cameras have tiny flashes and when using the zoom, you’ll be lucky to fully illuminate a subject 6 or 7 feet away. However, I found it did work very well when shooting portraits from about 4 or 5 feet. People shots showed sharp facial features, good flash exposure along with great natural skin tones. Portrait photography is one of the S7’s best uses.”

Imaging Resource have reviewed the new 8 megapixel Kodak Easyshare C875 digital camera.
“Though it’s not the most stylish compact camera on the market, there’s something cute and comfortable about the all-silver Kodak EasyShare C875. Made largely of polycarbonate, the Kodak C875 has metal accents and buttons to give it a more luxurious feel. With dimensions of 3.6 x 2.5 x 1.4 inches (91 x 63 x 37mm) and weighing in at 7.87 ounces (223 grams) with the two AA batteries and SD memory card installed, the camera is light, but it still has enough heft and balance to help you keep it steady when shooting at the 5x end of the zoom. And you’ll need that extra weight and balance since there’s no image stabilization—optical or digital—on this model.”

PCMagazine have published their review of the 10 megapixel Panasonic DMC-FZ50 camera.
“Looking at my test shots alone, it’s clear why the camera retains the Editors’ Choice we awarded the FZ30. I tested the FZ50’s two different types of image stabilization, and it proved rock-solid on both my informal trials. The FZ50 also acquitted itself very well on image quality: My test shots of trees set against a bright sky showed very little fringing.”
