Nikon Coolpix S6DigitalCameraInfo have reviewed the Nikon Coolpix S6, a 6 megapixel, 3x optical zoom len, 3 inch LCD digital camera.

“The slim and sexy Nikon Coolpix S6 was announced in February, along with its compatriot, the S5. Both cameras share similar specs, like 6 megapixels on a 1/2.5-inch CCD and a 3x optical zoom lens, with the main difference being the wireless capability on the flagship S6. The WiFi enabled digital camera allows users to send photos and videos to profiled computers and printers without a USB cable in sight. Still, the camera comes with plenty of wires in the package.”

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1DCResource have reviewed the new 10x zoom, 5 megapixel, compact Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 digital camera.

“If you want a compact ultra zoom camera then you really only have two choices: the dual lens Kodak EasyShare V610 and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 that I reviewed here. Having used both cameras quite a bit, I know which one I prefer—the TZ1. While it has a few annoyances, it’s a good choice for those who value portability over manual controls and expandability. If you want to know what I really think about the TZ1, this statement should sum it up for you: I bought one as a birthday gift for my dad.”

Samsung Digimax L85CNET has the first online review of the Samsung Digimax L85, which features 8-megapixels, 5x optical zoom (38-190mm - 35mm equivalent), 2.5-inch LCD display (230K pixels), full manual control and 11 preset scene modes.

“The Samsung Digimax L85 is a surprisingly functional 8-megapixel digital camera. Its chunky, retro design belies its very flexible, high-end feature set, including the unique ability to output HDMI . Granted, HDMI in a digital camera is more novel than utilitarian, but the wealth of manual settings and image features will be appreciated by anyone who wants to take solid photos. As long as you don’t mind its propensity for fringing on edges and the lack of a fast burst mode, you’ll find the Samsung Digimax L85 a versatile, quality shooter.”

Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z850DigitalReviews.net have just reviewed the Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z850 camera, which offers 8.1 megapixels, 3x optical zoom lens, manual exposure and advanced flash options.

“I’m pleasantly surprised at the high quality of both finish and the digital output. This is a more than capable camera which should give years of great service – even when technology in 2010 will make us snicker at the “mere” 8MP of this model. The Casio Exilim EX-Z850 has my highest recommendation for this class of camera! It’s also very affordable at around the $400 mark. In a couple of words: it’s fun, feature-filled and fantastic.”

Nikon Coolpix S6DigiCamReview have reviewed the Nikon Coolpix S6, a 6 megapixel, 3x optical zoom len, 3 inch LCD digital camera.

“The camera is easy to use, although the camera does have quite a lot of options and features. The controls on the back of the camera are fairly easy to use - the menus are responsive and easy to read, and the scroll wheel is a very nice method of choosing your mode or scrolling through photos. The menus can become slightly confusing simply due to the fact that there are SO many different menus, plus you also have the choice of viewing the menus as text (as shown above) or as icons. The camera is very thin, although the camera is fairly tall and wide for an ultra-compact. The menus are also easy to use, and the options are big enough and easy enough to see clearly, although I do have reservations about all the menus appearing as a dull grey colour - perhaps if the setup menu and other menus were clearly different colours it would make it easier to see which menu you are using.”

Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z60DIWA member Steves Digicams have just reviewed the Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z60 camera, which offers 6 megapixels, 3x optical zoom lens and a 2.5 inch LCD.

“The EX-Z60 also had mixed results with the quality of its 6M Fine images. Our outdoor samples were very nice, showing good overall exposure and pleasing color saturation. Thanks in part to its 3x optical zoom, the majority of our shots were sharp, but they did exhibit some edge softness. This lens covers a 35mm equivalent range of 38 - 114mm, which is typical for a camera in this class. The 38mm wide angle extreme will afford pleasing outdoor landscapes and group shots, while its telephoto range will help produced nice close-up portraits. I saw noticeable traces of chromatic aberration (purple fringing) around brightly lit objects as well as moderate barrel distortion at wide angle.”

Casio Exilim EX-Z600DIWA member Steves Digicams have the first review of the new Casio Exilim EX-Z600, which has 6 megapixels, 3x zoom lens and a 2.7 inch LCD.

“The EX-Z600 is yet another blazing fast Casio model. Power up to first image captured measured an astonishing 1.1 seconds! Shutter lag, the time from depressing the shutter release and capturing the image, was instantaneous when pre-focused, and about 1/10 of a second including autofocus. Rapid shooting in single drive mode captured images at intervals of 1 second without flash, and between 2.2 and 3 seconds with flash, depending on your subject’s distance.”

Fujifilm FinePix F30 ZoomCNET have published the first online review of the new Fujifilm FinePix F30, which offers ISO 3200, 6 megapixels, 3x optical zoom lens and a 2.5 inch LCD.

“Fujifilm has spent the last couple of years getting in touch with its sensitive side by ratcheting up the usable sensitivity range of its digital compact cameras. The pinnacle of this work is the company’s new FinePix F30, which includes a range of ISOs from ISO 100 all the way up to ISO 3,200. In the film world, you could get ISO 3,200 only with black-and-white film, and it had grain that was affectionately referred to as “golfball size” by many photographers. While noise at ISO 3,200 is extreme, the F30 keeps imaging artifacts under control below that point, making for a breakthrough as digital compacts go.”

Nikon Coolpix S6DCResource have reviewed the Nikon Coolpix S6, a 6 megapixel, 3x optical zoom len, 3 inch LCD digital camera.

“The Coolpix S6 is a slim metal camera with a “wave” design. It’s not the smallest camera in its class, but it will still fit into your smallest pocket with ease. The camera is well built. The S6 gets a mixed review in terms of usability. While the buttons on the back of the camera are okay (and I like the four-way controller wheel thing), the buttons on top are truly microscopic and hard to use. The S6 has a big and beautiful 3-inch LCD that has average visibility in low light and better-than-average visibility in low light. Unfortunately this huge screen doesn’t leave much room for your fingers, which makes the camera hard to hold. Not surprisingly the S6 lacks an optical viewfinder, and I’ll leave it up to you to decide if that’s a good or bad thing. The camera comes with a dock, which is required for USB or video out and optional for battery charging.”

Kodak Easyshare V603CNET have reviewed the new Kodak Easyshare V603 camera, which offer 6.1 megapixels, 3x optical zoom lens, 2.5 inch LCD, and available for $299.95.

“Images from the Kodak EasyShare V603 were generally pleasing, with only a few problems under certain circumstances. For example, while purple fringing was kept under control in most circumstances, it reared its head in very high-contrast situations, such as harshly backlit subjects, and it was very noticeable when it did show up. Under more normal conditions, colors were plenty vivid and convincingly natural.”

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01DIWA member Digit.no have just reviewed the new 6 megapixel, 28mm wide-angle lens Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01.

“My verdict is that the FX01 is an attractive mini camera with many desirable features to make picture-taking easier and more fun, in addition to improving the image quality. The 3,6x Leica lens with 28 mm wide angle and optical stabilizer is crisp and sharp, although it delivers quite severe vignetting at wide angle and a mediocre lens speed of f/5.6 at telephoto. The camera has an appealing and robust design, with a large and bright LCD screen which makes the lack of an optical viewfinder less annoying. With the addition of a few more manual options and RAW file format, the FX01 would be the ultimate second camera for many professionals and demanding amateurs.”

Samsung Digimax A503DIWA member LetsGoDigital have the first online review of the 5 megapixel Samsung Digimax A503.

“We came to the conclusion that the noise has an average signal/noise ratio. The Samsung Digimax A503 has a limited ISO setting and this prevents the noise ratio from becoming too large. Backlight pictures are fine and the camera has surprisingly few problems with chromatic aberration. The flash function and everything concerning spotlight, as it is called is excellent. The flash program is somewhat limited and you cannot always make manual corrections. The red eye function works reasonably well; a built-in red eye correction in the form of final processing software would be a welcome addition.”

“At the end of the day, the Canon A540 should be a very strong-selling model in the popular PowerShot line, providing not only dead-easy use for beginners (in full-auto mode), but a complete complement of advanced exposure and metering modes for the more experienced shooter. This is a camera that offers novice photographers plenty of capability to grow into, and should make a great choice for families or couples with widely varying levels of photo expertise.”
