DigitalCameraInfo have just published their review of the Kodak EasyShare-One, which is the first consumer digital camera to include a Wi-Fi chip for remote internet access.
“The Kodak EasyShare-one has a fairly ordinary front façade that doesn’t do much to advertise its flashy feature set. The one retails for $599 and includes a wireless card that syncs with Kodak EasyShare Software, printers, personal computers, laptops, camera phones, and other wireless-enabled devices. This digital camera offers convenience at its best and unleashes the true potential of the digital image. The Kodak EasyShare-one was announced in January and took way to long to get to the market, as it was just released in October. However, Kodak makes up for the delay with a plush package that includes a 2-year warranty, 2 batteries (one to spare), a battery charger, a leather carrying case, a nice software package, and a host of promotions. Add an impressive imager to the lavish package and the EasyShare-one may impact the digital camera industry far beyond its sales. “

DIWA member Steves Digicams take a look at the Canon PowerShot A410 compact digital camera, an entry level model with 3.2 megapixels and 1.5 inch LCD screen which replaces the A400. The Canon A410 offers a 3.2x optical zoom lens and includes Canon’s renowned DIGIC II image processor as used in their high-end digital SLR cameras.
“Bottom line - Canon has done it again with yet another model that offers great image quality and performance, all with a very appealing price. We feel it is a perfect money saving replacement to all those disposable 35mm cameras. It is simple to use and still includes many features found on more expensive models. With a street price of around $149 the Canon PowerShot A410 offers an excellent value to the price conscious consumer and will make a great gift this coming holiday season!”

CNET have reviewed the Kodak Easyshare Z7590 camera, which has 5 megapixels, 10x zoom lens and costs $450.
“The Kodak EasyShare Z7590 looks great on paper: it has a 10X optical zoom, a 5-megapixel resolution, an SLR-like electronic viewfinder, and manual exposure controls. Unfortunately, its photos tell a different story. A variety of artifacts, including purple fringing around highlights and noise at higher ISO settings, drop this camera’s desirability a few notches. Still, niceties such as an action-ready burst mode and a standard PC (Prontor-Compur, not personal computer) connection for an external flash will appeal to photographers who love to play with a full set of features”

Fujifilm FinePix Z2 Zoom: the sensitive supermodel that’s naturally slim - New member of the ‘Z’ series adds class-leading sensitivity
Fujifilm today announced the launch of the FinePix Z2 Zoom, a super-slim digital compact offering 5.1 megapixels, a high resolution 2.5” LCD monitor and improved sensitivity up to ISO 1600, all housed within a chic, sleek body.
As anyone with an eye for the world of fashion knows, occasionally you may want to take discreet photos in low light. With an amazing sensitivity setting of ISO 1600, this model certainly won’t be dropped for a poor performance.
A stylish successor to the hugely popular FinePix Z1 Zoom, this camera boasts an even higher- sensitivity performance (up to ISO 1600) meaning that clean, sharp images can be captured in low light or difficult lighting situations, such as parties, concerts and other indoor events. What’s more, Fujifilm’s Real Photo Processor enables users to achieve more natural-looking images, without the harsh effects often caused by camera flash – and avoiding the blurring caused by camera shake or subject movement.

DCResource review the Canon PowerShot A410 compact digital camera, an entry level model with 3.2 megapixels and 1.5 inch LCD screen which replaces the A400. The Canon A410 offers a 3.2x optical zoom lens and includes Canon’s renowned DIGIC II image processor as used in their high-end digital SLR cameras.
“The A410 is a boxy, midsized 3.2 Megapixel camera made of high grade plastic. It’s well put together, though I’m not a fan of having the zoom controls relegated to the four-way controller. The camera features a 3.2X zoom lens which starts at 41 mm, which makes it unsuitable for wide-angle photography. Other features on the camera include a small and somewhat dark 1.5” LCD display, point-and-shoot operation, Canon’s unique My Colors feature, and a super macro mode that lets you get 1.5 cm from your subject. One feature missing from the A410 is USB 2.0 High Speed support, which most of Canon’s other 2005 cameras have. There’s no video out port, either.”

DigitalCameraInfo have reviewed the Kodak Easyshare C340, a 5 megapixel digicam with 3x optical zoom lens.
“The Kodak EasyShare C340 takes its 5 megapixel images with a 1/2.5” CCD and a 3x optical zoom lens. Captured images can then be viewed on the camera’s 72,000 pixel 1.6” LCD or in print form using the camera’s Print/Share button and a compatible printer dock or PictBridge compliant printer. Still images can be shot with 12 shooting presets, and video can be captured at 640 x 480 at 13 fps or 320 x 240 at 20 fps. With a suggested retail price of $249.95, the C340 is less expensive than competitors with similar resolution and optics, though it lacks some of the amenities and style of more expensive compacts. The EasyShare C340 does however continue Kodak’s tradition of simple, easy-to-use cameras and can currently be found online for under $200.”

BIOS have published a review of the new Sanyo Xacti Digital Movie C5, which has 5 megapixels, 2 inch LCD screen and can record MPEG4 format movies with VGA resolution at 30 frames per second.
“The new Sanyo Xacti C5 digital camcorder is one of the smallest devices of its type. In fact, it’s so compact that you’ll probably mistake it for a digital camera. If you’re looking for an ultra-portable digital movie camera for capturing spontaneous moments, such as night outs and family shindigs, the Xacti C5 would make a good choice. It’s not exactly great value for money (its manual controls and format support are very limited), but it comes with a 1GB SD Card and is available in a choice of three colours (silver, bronze or white).”

DIWA member Steves Digicams have reviewed the new Canon IXUS i Zoom digital camera (also known as the SD30). The Canon IXUS i Zoom is a 5 megapixel model with a 2.4x optical zoom lens and 1.8 inch LCD screen.
“Image quality when using Large SuperFine mode was pleasing for a camera in this class, with a large majority of our images showing good overall expose and color balance. Its exposure and white balance systems did an excellent job in almost any lighting condition with the color temperature being very true. We noticed very little noise in both high and low contrast areas with virtually no signs of purple fringing (aka Chromatic Aberrations.)”

CNET have published their review of the Fujifilm FinePix S9500 Zoom, a new 9 megapixel digital camera with a 28-300mm lens with twist-barrel zoom control (also known as the S9000).
“Fujifilm’s FinePix S9000 shows just how close digital SLR wannabes are getting to the real thing. This is one EVF-equipped camera that can compete in both the SLR and non-SLR arenas. Just a hair smaller and priced within $50 of compact dSLRs such as the Pentax *ist DL, the FinePix S9000 looks and handles very much like its interchangeable-lens competitors and in some ways outfeatures them. It boasts a 28mm-to-300mm (35mm equivalent) 10.7X zoom lens, where most low-end dSLRs come with a skimpy normal zoom; and its 1/1.6-inch Fuji Super CCD HR sensor packs in 9 million pixels, compared to 6 megapixels for most budget digital SLRs.”
