CNET have reviewed the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LZ1, which has a 6x optical zoom lenses and an Optical Image Stabilizer to combat camera shake.
“Priced about $50 less than its 5-megapixel Lumix DMC-LZ2 sibling, this affordable point-and-shoot offers the same 6X zoom lens with a 37mm-to-222mm reach (35mm-camera equivalent) and the same highly desirable optical image stabilization to counter shaky hands at slow shutter speeds or high magnifications. Panasonic trimmed about a million pixels to create this 4-megapixel version, but its image quality is almost as good as the higher-res model’s. The only key feature missing is a microphone to record video sound clips.”

Imaging Resource have published the first online review of the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7, a 5 megapixel digital camera with a 2.5 inch LCD screen and a 3x optical zoom lens.
“The Sony DSC-T7 is equipped with a Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar 3x, 6.33-19.0mm lens, equivalent to a 38-114mm lens on a 35mm camera. (A fairly standard zoom range, going from an average wide angle to a good telephoto.) Normal focus ranges from approximately 1.64 feet (0.5 meters) to infinity, with a Macro setting that lets you get within 3.1 inches (8 centimeters) when the lens is zoomed to its wide angle position, and 9.8 inches (25 centimeters) at its telephoto setting. A Magnifying Glass scene mode (described below) gets even closer, focusing as close as one centimeter (though it also uses digital zoom to enlarge detail). Tiny lenses like this often have poor optical performance, but our testing showed the lens on the Sony T7 to better than average relative to other members of its subcompact class.”

CNET have published their review of the new Sony DSC-H1 digital camera. The DSC-H1 has a 12x optical zoom lens (equivalent to 36-432 millimeters), 5 megapixel CCD and 2.5 inch LCD screen.
“With its 12X-zoom Cyber Shot DSC-H1, Sony joins the megazoom competition. Although slightly larger and heavier than its competitors, the H1 holds its own thanks to a broad feature set, speedy performance, and a generally well-thought-out design. We have a few quibbles and wish that the photos were sharper, but overall, the H1 may please enthusiasts hankering for a camera with an extended focal range.”

BIOS have published their review of the Ricoh Caplio GX8, an 8.24 megapixel update of the Ricoh Caplio GX.
“Ricoh’s Caplio GX8 is a slim and compact 8.2-Megapixel digital camera that commands one of the world’s fastest shutter response time, super-close macro mode and a fast start-up time of 1.3 seconds. The wholly-black camera is quicker, lighter and even easier to use than its wide-angle lens predecessor, the Caplio GX, but only offers a 3x optical zoom lens. Nevertheless, it can easily slip into a jacket pocket, is a snap to use and produces excellent quality images. You’ll struggle to find a camera in this price bracket that offers so much functionality or that produces such good images.”

DigitalCameraReview.com have reviewed the new Casio EX-Z750 Exilim Zoom, which has a 7.2 megapixel CCD sensor, large 2.5-inch LCD screen and offers a battery life of 325 shots.
“Casio’s newest digicam is a precision built imaging tool that absolutely radiates class. It reminds me of the iconic Rollei 35S and the sexy little Contax T2 film cameras. The Casio Exilim EX Z750 is a seven-megapixel digital camera that’s small enough to be dropped in a shirt pocket and tough enough to go just about anywhere. It’s very fast (across the board), has better battery life than the Energizer bunny, and is almost infinitely tweakable.”

Nuevafotografia have just posted their review of the 7 megapixel Canon PowerShot G6.
” A modest update to the G5, the 7-megapixel PowerShot G6 faithfully follows in the footsteps of previous Canon G-series models. With a powerful, enthusiast-oriented feature set and very solid photo quality, it gets most of the same high marks as its predecessors. But its good-but-not-great performance lags behind the competition’s, keeping the G6 from garnering the Editors’ Choice-level ratings of its ancestors.”

CNET have published their review of the 6 megapixel Konica Minolta Dynax 7D digital SLR camera.
“The long-awaited Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D gives the Minolta faithful the modern, Maxxum system-compatible digital SLR (dSLR) they’ve been craving. Its 6-megapixel CCD and midlevel feature set look somewhat old hat at this writing, but the camera’s Anti-Shake mechanism, which continuously repositions the CCD to counteract blur caused by camera movement, is unique among dSLRs. Strong performance and thoughtful design round out this decent-shooting camera, which deserves a look from any entry- to midlevel dSLR buyer but especially from those who already own a Maxxum lens or two.”

DigiCamReview have just reviewed the compact 4.1 Megapixel Fujifilm FinePix F440 Zoom.
“Image quality is very good: The images have excellent, rich saturated colour with good contrast - some people may find the saturation a bit high and unfortunately the only control to customise this is one which increases(!) saturation and contrast - so you will need to make sure you’re happy with the camera’s colour reproduction before buying. Images are a bit soft, but have good detail. Purple fringing was low. The camera did a good job focusing outside - but in low-light was very poor at focusing. There is a good range of image sizes but a poor choice of compression options. The macro mode is fairly average. Auto white balance and metering seemed to be good. The movie mode is very poor.”

PCMagazine have published the first online review of the Casio EX-S500, a 5 megapixel digital camera with a 3x optical zoom and a 2.2 inch LCD screen.
“With its super-slim body, light weight, versatility, and excellent picture quality, the 5-megapixel Casio Exilim EX-S500 is a camera you can carry everywhere. What’s more, the hot colors and “electrical coating” ensure you’ll take it out of your pocket as often as possible to show it off (and maybe shoot some photos, too). It doesn’t dethrone our Editors’ Choice, the 4-megapixel Canon PowerShot SD300 Digital Elph, but it certainly comes close.”

Imaging Resource have reviewed the Canon Digital IXUS 50, a 5 megapixel digital camera with stainless steel finish that is Canon’s smallest ever 5.0 Megapixel optical zoom camera (also known as the SD400).
“The Canon PowerShot SD400 Digital ELPH was unveiled as part of Canon’s wide ranging digital camera announcements at this year’s Photo Marketing Association tradeshow. The Canon SD400 is a lot like an SD-card based version of the prior PowerShot S400 in Canon’s popular, diminutive Digital ELPH camera line. The Canon SD400 and SD500 models both offer extremely unusual (and frankly, rather cool) “My Color” modes that allow you to selectively replace any color in your photo with a different one, or to make the image black and white with the exception of a single color. The Canon PowerShot SD400 features a high resolution 5.0-megapixel CCD imager, big two-inch LCD, and use of the (very fast) Canon DiGIC II processor. Overall, one of the more appealing subcompact digital cameras we’ve seen to date.”
