Canon PowerShot SD300 Digital ELPHPocket-Lint have just reviewed the 4 megapixel Canon Digital IXUS 40 (also known as the PowerShot SD300 Digital ELPH).

“I’m glad to report that despite the camera’s small size, it is very easy to use, the metering and AF (Auto Focus) work wonders and the combination of easy to use subject modes such as portrait and landscape settings, with a full manual control option, combines to create not just as stylish little camera but one that can take cracking pictures too.”

Canon PowerShot S70Digital Photography Blog have published their review of the new 7 megapixel Canon PowerShot S70.

“Initial contact with this camera is impressive. Its stylish black exterior and traditional camera design will appeal to many. It feels nice and solid, even weighted, and robust enough to handle a few bumps during its lifetime.

Turning the S70 on and off is a simple matter of a sliding cover over the lens, which also serves to protect the glass. As with all Canon cameras I?ve used, the buttons and menus are very simple to use, with anyone being able to pick this camera up and operate it confidently after a matter of minutes.”

Olympus C-370 ZOOMPhotoxels have posted the first review that I have seen of the new entry-level Olympus C-370 Zoom (this camera is known as the Olympus D-535 Zoom in the USA).

“The Olympus Camedia D-535 Zoom is an entry-level point-and-shoot digital camera targeted to first-time users. For less than US$150, you get a 3.2 megapixel resolution, 3x optical zoom digital camera that is both easy to use and gives good results.”

Olympus C-70 ZOOMDCResource have published their review of the 7 megapixel Olympus C-70 Zoom (called the Olympus C-7000 Zoom in the USA).

“I very much enjoyed using the Olympus C-7000 Zoom, and it gets my recommendation. Photo quality was very good, though I’d definitely crank the sharpness and especially the saturation up a notch or two. The C-7000Z has a 5X zoom lens packed into a midsized body, though the lens starts at 38 mm, making it a bad choice for wide-angle lovers. Camera performance is excellent, with the exception of saving or viewing RAW and TIFF files. The C-7000 is nicely-designed for the most part, with the exception of the clumsy door over the memory card / battery compartment.”

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-V3LetsGoDigital have published their review of the new 7 megapixel Sony Cybershot DSC-V3.

“Not one digital camera is perfect, neither is the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-V3. However, in our opinion, Sony had developed an outstanding camera with an excellent photo quality. The innovative technique on board of the DSC-V3 stands on a high level and is not found in competing models. All in all we may conclude that the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-V3 is truly recommendable to those who have high expectations concerning photo quality, colour rendition and the versatile applications.”

FujiFilm FinePix A607DigiCamReview.co.uk have published a review of the 3 megapixel FujiFilm FinePix A607.

“The design is okay, the size is okay, the camera is quite compact, stylish and pocketable. The small 1.5” screen updates smoothly but is a very low resolution and overly saturated and yellowly. The camera is very easy to use, the menu systems being easy to use, if a bit basic in the amount of options and features available. The 3x optical zoom lens seems to be very good. Camera handling, and button layout are good. The camera speed is good in use and has a quick zoom, shot to shot time is average, and the camera has an average switch on time. My other complaints are that it takes XD cards (expensive), there is no custom white balance, and the camera seems to scratch easily.”

Kodak EASYSHARE DX7590DPReview have posted their review of the 5 megapixel, 10x optical zoom Kodak EASYSHARE DX7590 digital camera.

“The DX7590 is a camera that rewards those prepared to take the time to learn how to use all its functions and to work around its foibles - you start getting better and better pictures the more you use it. Quite how this fits in with the ‘EasyShare’ concept I’m not sure, though Kodak has done a fairly good job at combining sophisticated features with genuine ease of use. The 7590 may have a friendly interface and cartoony icons, but it is stuffed to the gills with enough features to keep even the most enthusiastic photographer happy.”

“The Kodak EasyShare DX7590 packs a load of features into a relatively compact 12.3 ounces. The 10x optical zoom lens, flash accessory connector, and 32MB of internal memory launch this camera into the ranks with higher end models. These features, paired with 5 megapixels, make the EasyShare DX7590 a good buy at $499.95. This camera would be great for an entry-level or intermediate user.”

Panasonic DMC-FZ20CNET have published a review of the new Panasonic DMC-FZ20 digital camera, which has a 12x optical zoom lens from Leica.

“We suspect that Panasonic’s Lumix DMC-FZ20—clad in either cool black (FZ20K) or shiny silver (FZ20S)—will soon replace the DMC-FZ10 as a bit of a cult favorite among megazoom aficionados. The new model offers a stunning, optically-stabilized 12X Leica zoom lens that reaches out to 432mm (35mm equivalent), 5-megapixel resolution, and some worthwhile performance improvements. If you love supertelephoto photography, this Panasonic looks like the camera to beat.”

Olympus C-765 Ultra ZoomCNET have published their review of the Olympus C-765 Ultra Zoom digital camera.

“We got the same good image quality with this camera as with the C-770 Ultra Zoom: consistent exposures; rich, detailed shadows; and highlights that didn’t wash out easily. This camera, however, offered just 320x240-pixel, 15fps movies with adequate sound. If you’re looking for 640x480, 30fps clips, spend the extra $100 and get the C-770.”

Canon PowerShot G6TrustedReviews have posted their review of the new 7 megapixel Canon PowerShot G6.

“First of all, let’s make it clear that all of Canon’s G-series digital cameras are relatively big and if you’re looking for something small to pocket on your travels, you may well find these cameras a little on the bulky side. However, the G6 is the most compact out of the range, representing a 30g saving in weight and around a 10 percent reduction in size over the G5. That said, when I first unboxed the camera and showed it to some friends they all commented on how chunky looking it was. This is largely down to the beefy rubber-coated grip, which provides a very well balanced and comfortable hold on the camera. The controls have also been reorganised thanks to some clever mounting technologies and fall neatly under my thumb and forefinger - but only if you’re right-handed.”

Olympus Mju - mini DIGITALDCResource have just posted their review of the diminutive and stylish 4 megapixel Olympus Mju Mini digicam (called the Stylus Verve in the USA).

“While not my favorite ultra-compact camera, the Olympus Stylus Verve is a stylish point-and-shoot camera for those people making smaller prints and web photos. Let’s not beat around the bush here: the Verve is one of the most stunning digital cameras ever designed. On top of that, it’s even weatherproof! The downside is that the cool body is a little hard to hold steadily, and there’s no optical viewfinder to be found. Thankfully the 1.8” LCD is bright and visible in bright outdoor light or dimly-lit rooms. While the camera lacks an AF-assist lamp, it focused quite well in low light situations. The Verve is 100% point-and-shoot—there are no manual controls.”

Olympus Mju - mini DIGITALImaging Resource have just posted their review of the diminutive and stylish 4 megapixel Olympus Mju Mini digicam (called the Stylus Verve in the USA).

“The Verve’s image noise performance is a little unusual. Noise is visible in some shots even at the lowest ISO setting of 64, but as you go to higher ISOs, the noise is more or less held in check. At ISO 400, the noise is definitely obtrusive, but it isn’t as outright ugly as that from a lot of competing models at that ISO level. Overall, a good balance between maintaining subject detail and minimizing image noise.”
