Panasonic today announced the pocket-friendly Lumix DC-TZ90 travelzoom camera boasting a 20.3-megapixel sensor, a 24-720mm equivalent lens, a flippable 3" monitor, a high-resolution 0.2" EVF and a host of unique Panasonic features including 4K Photo, which allows users to capture unmissable moments at 30fps and extract stills at 8-megapixel equivalent resolution. Plus, there are also a range of other useful functions which utilise 4K technology. Post Focus means you can change the point of focus after shooting, while Focus Stacking enables changing the depth of field after shooting by combining multiple images. Incorporating Panasonic’s DFD (Depth From Defocus) technology, the TZ90 boasts a 0.1 second AF speed. You can also employ burst shooting at 10 (AF-S) fps or 5 (AF-C) fps. A range of AF functions include Touch AF, 49-point AF points and Low Light AF help to lock on focus in a wide variety of different conditions. For those who are concerned with manual focusing, there’s lots of help on board for that too, including Focus Peaking and MF assist. The Lumix DC-TZ90 will be available from June (RRP £399).

The Canon PowerShot SX730 HS is a new compact travelzoom camera with a 20.3-megapixel CMOS sensor and a 24-960mm equivalent zoom lens. With  features such as a convenient Self-Portrait and Smooth Skin mode, 3.0-inch LCD screen that rotates up 180 degrees and built-in connectivity capabilities like Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth technology, the Canon PowerShot SX730 HS is a successor to the PowerShot SX720 HS digital compact camera. In addition to capturing 20-megapixel stills, the new Canon SX730 HS can also record Full HD movies at 60 frampes per second. The camera is scheduled to be available in June 2017 for an estimated retail price of £379.99/€489.99/$399.99.

Nikon has announced the cancellation of all three DL series premium compact cameras. Announced almost exactly a year ago the Nikon DL18-50 f/1.8-2.8, DL24-85 f/1.8-2.8 and DL24-500 f/2.8-5.6 cameras, all of which which featured 20.8-megapixel CX-sized sensors and fixed-mount lenses, were originally scheduled to hit the shelves in June 2016 but were postponed due to issues with the integrated circuit for image processing. Nikon now says that "sales of the DL series will be canceled due to concerns regarding their profitability."

The Panasonic LUMIX FZ82 superzoom camera features ultra-wide and dynamic zoom, 4K video recording and 4K PHOTO. The FZ82 features the LUMIX DC VARIO 20mm ultra wide-angle lens with a 60x optical zoom and comes with USB charging to allow an even quicker charge. The Panasonic LUMIX FZ82 will be available from March 2017 and will RRP at £329.99.

The Canon PowerShot SX430 IS is a new superzoom camera featuring a 20-megapixel CCD, 45x optical zoom, Wi-Fi and Dynamic NFC connectivity. The brand new Date Button adds a date and time stamp to your images. The Canon PowerShot SX430 IS will be available later this year at selected retailers with a RRP of £229.99/€299.99.

The new Canon IXUS 185 and IXUS 190 are the slimmest cameras in the Canon IXUS range. Each new model comes with a 20-megapixel CCD imager, a 10x zoom lens with Intelligent Image Stabilisation, and Wi-Fi connectivity. The IXUS 190 additionally offers Dynamic NFC (near-field communication). The cameras' Easy Auto feature automatically selects the best camera settings for you, and locks buttons to help you avoid pressing anything by mistake. For added ease, Auto Zoom intelligently selects the best framing for stills and movies, all dependent on the number of people in shot. Both cameras are capable of recording HD movies in 720p resolution. The Canon IXUS 185 will be available next month with an RRP of  £119.99/€149.99. The IXUS 190 will be available at selected retailers from February 2017 with an RRP of £169.99/€219.99.

Canon today unveiled their new PowerShot G9 X Mark II premium compact camera. Featuring a 20.1-megapixel 1"-type sensor and a 28-82mm (eq.) f/2-4.9 lens, the CanonPowerShot G9 X Mark II offers a new Digic VII image processor, Dual Sensing Image Stabilisation, 0.14-second auto-focus, improved subject tracking and a maximum continuous shooting speed of 8.2fps in raw shooting mode. Dynamic NFC lets you quickly connect and transfer images to compatible smart devices, including the Canon Connect Station, to easily share and safely store your photos and movies. The new Bluetooth compatibility means you can maintain a constant camera connection, so you can see and share your photographs via a phone or tablet even when your camera is tucked away. The camera body is 25% thinner than that of the original PowerShot G9 X. The PowerShot G9X Mark II will be available from February 2017 with an RRP of £449.99/€569.99/$529.99.

The Sony Cyber-shot HX350 is a new super-zoom compact camera with a 50x optical zoom lens. Other key features of the Sony HX350 include a back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor with 20.4 effective megapixels, Full HD video including 24p mode, Optical SteadyShot, manual ring for smooth adjustment of zoom/focus, high-contrast electronic viewfinder and 7.5cm (3.0-type) LCD with 921k dot resolution. The price and availability of the Sony Cyber-shot HX350 are still to be announced.

At the DEMA trade show, SeaLife unveiled their latest digital underwater camera, the DC2000. As SeaLife’s most advanced underwater camera to date, the DC2000 includes a full featured waterproof inner camera and an ergonomic, precisely designed and matched 200ft/60m underwater housing. The DC2000 is equipped with a 20-megapixel 1"-type CMOS sensor, which can also capture Full HD videos at 60 frames per second, and a 31mm (eq.) f/1.8 lens. With the option to shoot in JPEG and DNG formats, the SeaLife DC2000 caters to both casual shooters and serious photographers. The housing includes a flash link optical cable adapter that easily connects to one or two external flash or strobes. The wide “Piano Keys” control all the cameras essential functions, making it easy to operate with or without dive gloves. The DC2000 inner camera includes a built-in flash, a 3” 920k hi-resolution color LCD screen and a user friendly feature navigation menu. The included 1130mAh 3.7V ion removable battery will power the camera for over two hours. The camera is available from 1st December, priced at $699.95.

DxO today released a major update to its DxO ONE miniaturised camera. Less than three months after the release of a 2.0 update that brought Wi-Fi as a new feature, DxO is now introducing what it calls the World's first seamless raw workflow, direct from the DxO ONE to your iPhone or iPad. Version 2.1 takes full advantage of raw support in iOS 10, enabling a one-touch transfer of DxO ONE raw files to the iOS Photos library where they can be processed on-the-go. Available to all DxO ONE users free of charge, the update also enables direct Wi-Fi remote control, and adds other performance boosting enhancements.

Leica today announced that its Leica D-Lux (Typ 109) camera will be available in a set with added accessories at a special price starting mid-November. The new Leica D-Lux Explorer Kit includes the camera with the additional functionality of an auto lens cap – which allows photographers to power the camera on, shoot pictures, and then power off without the need to remove the cap – and an exclusive red carrying strap made from the finest quality cotton. Just in time for the season, the Leica D-Lux Explorer Kit comes in attractive packaging with a winter theme. The kit will become available later this month, at a recommended retail price of £920/$1,145.
