Sony is demonstrating its full range of digital imaging offerings at Photokina 2016. Located in Hall 5.2, the Sony booth will be open from 10:00 on Tuesday 20th September until 18:00 on Sunday 25th September. In addition to showcasing the full product line-up including the newly announced A99 II camera, Sony is offering a full programme of live talks and demonstrations. At these free talks, world-renowned photographers and filmmakers will be sharing their insights as well as their own personal and professional experiences of using Sony cameras and lenses. As part of the programme, there will also be a series of live action shows which attendees are invited to photograph including a celebration of Samurai sword artistry, professional break dancers and acrobats.

The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ2000 is a new flagship hybrid bridge camera. Incorporating a 20x optical zoom lens, a 1.0 inch MOS sensor and unlimited 4K video recording in MOV/MP4, the Panasonic FZ2000 (also known as the Panasonic FZ2500) offers high-performance photography and outstanding video recording. The LUMIX FZ2000 features the newly-developed LEICA DC VARIO-ELMART lens system which has a 20x optical zoom (35mm camera equivalent: 24-480mm) and F2.8-4.5. The LUMIX FZ2000 boasts exceptional video recording performance which has never been seen in a bridge camera. It is capable of unlimited  4K video recording (Cinema 4K: 4096x2160 / 24 fps and QFHD 4K: 3840x2160 / up to 30 fps) in MOV/MP4  and Full HD video at an ultra-high bitrate of 200 Mbps (ALL-Intra) or 100 Mbps (IPB). The LUMIX FZ2000 incorporates a 1-inch High Sensitivity MOS Sensor with 20.1-megapixel high resolution. This large MOS Sensor improves S/N ratio, resulting in dramatic reduction of noise – even when shooting at ISO 12800.

The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LX15 is a premium pocket-sized 4K camera with a fast lens to capture sharp images anytime, anywhere. The new Panasonic LX15 (also known as the Panasonic LX10) camera offers an exceptional F1.4 high-speed lens and a 1-inch large MOS sensor; all in a sleek, stylish pocket-sized body. The LUMIX LX15 includes the newly-developed F1.4-F2.8 LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMILUX lens system with 3x optical zoom (35mm camera equivalent: 24-72mm). The 1-inch MOS sensor with its 20.1-megapixel resolution realises high-quality image recording with stunning details. Taking advantage of 4K technology, users can enjoy both 4K PHOTO and 4K VIDEO. The 5-Axis Hybrid O.I.S. + (Five Axis Optical Image Stabilizer Plus) effectively compensates for handshakes occurring in virtually any direction, enabling smooth photo and video recording.

DxO have announced major updates to the DxO ONE camera, including Wi-Fi Remote Control and new accessories. Wi-Fi Remote Control will be available to all existing users free of charge via a forthcoming 2.0 software update. The new accessories include an ultra-compact Stand, waterproof Outdoor Shell and a snap-on Optical Adapter. The DxO ONE camera for iPhone and iPad retails for for £399 / 499 €.

The European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) have honoured Sony with 5 awards in their 2016 round-up. The full-frame Sony RX1R II (pictured) has been chosen as this year's "European Premium Compact Camera," the A7S II has won the "European Photo & Video Camera 2016-2017" category, the A6300 has received the "European Prosumer Compact System Camera 2016-2017" award, while the Sony FE 85mm f/1.4 GM lens took the title of "European Professional Compact System Lens 2016-2017." (The fifth EISA award went to an in-car HD player.)

The Nikon Coolpix W100 is a new shock-, dust- and waterproof digital compact camera with a 13.2-megapixel CMOS sensor. Equipped with a 30-90mm (eq.) f/3.3-5.9 lens, the Nikon Coolpix W100 is shockproof to 1.8m, cold-resistant to -10°C and waterproof to a depth of 10m. Utilising Bluetooth low energy (BLE) technology, the camera automatically transfers images to your smart device for easy storage and social sharing while on the go. Full HD movieswith stereo sound are recorded at the touch of a button, with Electronic VR keeping videos smooth and clear. The Nikon Coolpix W100 will become available on 8 September 2016, priced at £129.99 / €159.00.

Leica has released firmware update 2.0 for the Leica Q full-frame compact camera. This version adds an option to shoot in raw-only mode, expands the shutter speed range to include speeds of up to 120 seconds, introduces an optimised EVF mode that makes navigation even easier than before, improves upn the spirit level display, adds three optimised auto focus functions and brings a number of other improvements. Leica Q owners can download the firmware update from the Leica website, or visit their local Leica Store or Leica Customer Care in the UK, for a complimentary firmware update service.

Panasonic will be exhibiting at The Farnborough International Airshow public weekend, taking place in Hampshire on 16th and 17th July. With an array of products suited to enthusiasts and families alike, Panasonic will showcase a selection of their Lumix G & Lumix cameras and HD camcorders on their stand. Having only just been announced, this will be one of the first chances for consumers to see the new ultra wide-angle Leica DG Summilux 12mm f/1.4 ASPH. lens (read review) that has been created to satisfy professional needs for shooting landscapes. The Panasonic Lumix GX80 and a selection of Panasonic’s 4K camcorders will also be on the stand.
