The Samyang XP 35mm F1.2 is the World's first 35mm lens for Canon EF with a constant F1.2 aperture.

This manual-focus-only lens is compatible with the latest 50 megapixel or higher DSLR cameras and 8K filming. It features a 9-blade circular aperture for beautiful background blur and bokeh and is comprised of 12 elements in 10 groups, including a special aspherical lens, a high refractive lens, and an extra refractive index lens.The Samyang XP 35mm F1.2 weighs 1106g and measures 117.4mm in length. Minium focusing distance is 0.34m and the maximum magnification ratio is x0.17.

The availability and price of the Samyang XP 35mm F1.2 are yet to be announced. Note that it will not be released in Europe for the time being.

Nikon has announced that the total production of NIKKOR lenses for its interchangeable lens cameras has reached 110 million as of October 2018.

The retail price of the new Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 DG OS HSM Sports lens will be £1349.99 including VAT in the UK. SIGMA SA and Canon EF mount will be available in December and Nikon F mount will follow in early 2019.

The pricing details of 2 of the lenses that Sigma announced at Photokina have been unveiled. The SRP (including VAT) of the 56mm F1.4 DC DN C will be £399.99 / $479. The SRP (including VAT) of the 40mm F1.4 DG HSM A will be £1099.99 / $1399. Pricing on the other lenses is still to be announced.

In addition, Sigma is now shipping the Sony E-mount version of its “Bokeh Master” – the 105mm F1.4 DG HSM Art ($1599 USD).

Nikon UK has today launched its Winter Cashback promotion, offering up to £275/€300 on selected Nikon cameras and NIKKOR lenses in time for the festive period.

Sigma have issued a lens compatibility notice for their lenses when used with the new Canon EOS R mirrorless camera. There are no known issues with general operation, but Sigma do state that the Digital Lens Optimizer located within the in-camera Lens Aberration Correction function cannot be used and must be set to Off. This will be fixed by Sigma in a future firmware update.

Sigma has confirmed in a statement that its current lenses will work on the new Nikon Z7 mirrorless camera via the FTZ adapter without any issues.

Interchangeable lenses that do not incorporate an AF drive motor will operate only in manual focus, while some interchangeable lenses shipped out before November 2013 that are not compatible with the latest DSLR cameras will not operate.

The new Laowa 10-18mm F4.5-5.6 full frame zoom lens for Sony FE cameras is now available to pre-order. The price will be £899 / $849 and stock is due at the end of November 2018.

The lens is currently available to pre-order in authorized resellers and in Venus Optics official website (http://www.venuslens.net/). The first 50 orders through Venus Optic’s webstore will get a 100mm Magnetic Filter Holder System for FREE. The ex-VAT retail price in US is USD 849/pc and the first shipment is expected to commence in late November.

The Laowa 10mm f/4.5-5.6 for Canon R and Nikon Z mounts will be released in a few months.

The Zeiss Otus 100mm f/1.4 lens is due to be released in 2019, according to Japanese rumour site Nokishita. Sporting an APO Sonnar lens design, the Otus 100mm has a filter size of 86mm and an aperture range of f/1.4-f/16. It will be available in Nikon F and Canon EF mounts.

Sales of the new Tokina Opera 50mm F1.4 FF lens for full frame Nikon and Canon DSLR cameras will begin on October 26th.

One of the key selling points of the Canon EOS R mirrorless camera is its backwards compatibility with Canon's vast range of EF lenses - 130 million produced so far and counting - not to mention 3rd-party lenses from the likes of Sigma and Tamron. This backwards compatibility is made possible by the new Canon EF-EOS R mount adapter.

So we've tested out the autofocusing system of the Canon EOS R mirrorless camera, firstly with the RF 24-105mm f/4 kit lens and then with a wide variety of EF lenses.

The 7 Artisans 35mm F1.2 is a fast manual focus lens for mirrorless cameras. It's available now in Canon EF-M, Sony E, Fujifilm X and Micro Four Thirds mount.

Hong-Kong manufacturer Meike have unveiled an intriguing 6-11mm F3.5 fish eye lens for full-frame and APS-C cameras. This fish eye zoom has a constant aperture of f/3.5, minimum focusing distance of 15mm (at 6mm), measures 64x94mm, and weighs 541g. The Meike 6-11mm F3.5 Fish Eye Lens is available in Canon and Nikon mounts.

Tamron have announced that some of their lenses do not work on the new Nikon Z mirrorless camera. The company has discovered issues that affect some of their Di/Di II series lenses when mounted on the Nikon Z7 with the FTZ Nikon Mount Adapter. Tamron haven't yet disclosed which lenses are affected.
