Nikon are expanding its Z mount lens range with the development of the NIKKOR Z 28mm f/2.8 and NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2.

Both lenses are scheduled for release in 2021.

Panasonic has just announced a new lightweight 50mm F1.8 lens for its LUMIX S Series range of full-frame mirrorless cameras.

The new LUMIX S 50mm F1.8 will be available by the end of June 2021 priced at £429 in the UK.

Panasonic have just announced that the long-awaited GH6 mirrorless camera is currently in development and will be available by the end of 2021.

Panasonic are splitting the GH-series into two, with the flagship GH6 targeted at professional videographers and the new GH5M2 that was also announced today aimed more at vloggers.

The GH6 will have a new high-speed sensor and a new Venus engine image processor, and will offer unlimited 4:2:2 10-bit Cinema 4K/60p video recording.

In addition, the GH6 will record 5.7K 60p video and support 10-bit 4K 120p High Frame Rate (HFR) and Variable Frame Rate (VFR) recording.

As well as announcing the GH6, a new Leica DG 25-50mm F1.7 zoom lens is also under development, which will join the existing Leica DG 10-25mm F1.7 optic. No release date has yet been set for this.

The AF 12mm F2 E is a new autofocus, super-wide-angle prime lens for Sony APS-C sized sensors mirrorless cameras from Korean manufacturer Samyang (also known as Rokinon).

This compact and lightweight lens has a short minimum focusing distance, weather sealing and a quiet, smooth AF system for stills and video.

The new Samyang AF 12mm F2 E lens will be available in the UK from early May 2021 priced at £359.99 (including VAT).

Sony have just unveiled a new large aperture ultra-wide-angle prime lens, the FE 14mm F1.8 GM, for their full-frame mirrorless Alpha cameras.

This lens promises to offer excellent image quality with superb corner to corner resolution, features two XD Linear Motors for fast, quiet and precise AF tracking, and has a very compact, lightweight design.

We had the chance to try out the brand new Fujifilm XF 18mm F1.4 lens for a few days - here are our detailed first impressions.

The Fujifilm XF 18mm F1.4 R LM WR is a fast prime lens for X Series mirrorless cameras that provides a 35mm equivalent focal length of 27mm.

The optical construction is 15 elements in 9 groups, which includes 3 aspherical and 1 ED elements.

The weather-resistant Fuji 18mm F1.4 measures 7.56cm / 2.98in in length, weighs just 370g /0.81lb, has a filter size of 62mm, fast 0.04 second AF speed, and a minimum focusing distance of 20cm / 7.9in.

The Fujifilm XF 18mm F1.4 R LM WR lens will be available in May 2021 priced at £879 in the UK.

The Canon RF 400mm F2.8L IS USM and RF 600mm F4L IS USM are two new super telephoto lenses that offer incredible focusing speeds.

Optically identical to the EF versions, the RF 400mm and 600mm both feature a double power drive method that helps you keep track of action, even when shooting at 30fps with the equally new EOS R3 camera.

The new RF lenses are about 40g heavier than the EF versions but offer faster autofocusing, full-time manual focus and an improved 5.5-stops of OIS.

The Canon RF 400mm F2.8L IS USM is priced at £12,449 / €14,179 and the RF 600mm F4L IS USM will cost £13,409 / €15,269.

The Canon RF 100mm F2.8L MACRO IS USM is a new macro autofocus prime lens for Canon's full-frame mirrorless cameras that offers 1.4x magnification and an adjustable Spherical Aberration Control ring.

This is the world's first AF macro lens with 1.4x magnification, made possible by the lens’ floating system and short back focusing.

The new Spherical Aberration Control ring varies the look of the background and foreground bokeh, while allowing photographers to create a soft-focus effect on the subject.

The RF 100mm F2.8L MACRO IS USM also features 5-stops of OIS and 8-stops of Combined IS when used with the EOS R5 and EOS R6 cameras.

It will be priced at £1479.99 / €1689.99.

The new Samyang AF 24mm F1.8 FE wide-angle prime lens for Sony full-frame E mount cameras has been specially optimized for astrophotography.

Weighing only 230g and measuring just 71mm in length, the Samyang 24mm F1.8 lens features a new function called “Custom Mode” which automatically move the focus directly to infinity, complete with an LED indicator.

The Samyang 24mm F1.8 for Sony is priced at £459.99 in the UK and will be available from early May.

Sony have just unveiled three new full-frame lenses - the FE 50mm F2.5 G, FE 40mm F2.5 G and FE 24mm F2.8 G.

Each of the new super-compact, aluminum-bodied G-series lenses comes equipped with a physical aperture ring with an on/off click switch, AF/MF switch and a customisable focus hold button, and each one is the same size and almost the same weight as the others, as well as having the same filter diameter.

We can't help feeling that Sony have been somewhat "inspired" by Sigma and the recent introduction of their identically-sized 24mm, 35mm and 65mm DG DN lenses, which are also very compact and sport a high-quality metal construction complete with an aperture ring.

All three lenses will be available in May priced at $800 / £630.

Ideal for portraits, wedding photography, video and more, Sony have just announced the FE 50mm F1.2 GM lens. This new E-Mount lens promises to deliver excellent resolution, dramatic bokeh, industry-leading AF capabilities and professional control and reliability in a compact and lightweight design.

The Sony FE 50mm F1.2 GM will be available in April 2021 priced at £2,100 / €2,300 / $2,000.

The new APO-Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH. is the most compact 35mm lens that Leica have ever made.

It is constructed of ten lens elements divided into five groups, boasts a closest focusing distance of just 30 centimetres, has a focus ring with a large throw of 300° and a circular 11-blade aperture.

This lens can be used on any current and future model of the M series, Leica SL2 and SL2-S.

It joins the APO-Summicron-M 50mm f/2 ASPH., which was released in 2012.

The Leica APO-Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH. is available now priced at £6,700 in the UK and $8,195 in the US.

Ricoh have just announced three new HD PENTAX-FA Limited lenses which feature the original PENTAX HD coating, significantly enhancing the lenses by minimising light reflections and ghosting. They are:

The Sigma 28-70mm F2.8 DG DN Contemporary is a new compact standard zoom lens for L-Mount and Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras.

The Sigma 28-70mm F2.8 DG DN Contemporary lens is priced at £759.99 / $899 / €849.

Leica have added the first true wide angle lens to their range of of SL lenses for full-frame mirrorless cameras.

The new Leica APO-Summicron-SL 28 f/2 ASPH. joins the existing focal lengths of 35, 50, 75 and 90mm in the series, featuring exactly the same dimensions and filter size.

The Leica APO-Summicron-SL 28 f/2 ASPH. lens is available now priced at £4,050 in the UK and $5,195 in the US.

Panasonic have unveiled a new telephoto zoom lens for the L-Mount system of full-frame mirrorless cameras.

Key features include a rounded aperture with 11-bladed iris diaphragm, dual image stabiliser worth up to 5.5-stops, and a rugged dust/splash-resistant design.

The 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 MACRO O.I.S. has a minimum focusing distance of 0.54m and a maximum magnification of 0.5x for half-size macro capabilities.

The Lumix S 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 will be available from the beginning of May at RRP £1259.99 / $1,247.99.

Fujifilm have updated the XF 27mm F2.8 pancake lens that we reviewed way back in 2013, by making it weather-resistant, adding aperture ring markings and an A (Auto) Position Lock, and including a dome-shaped lens hood.

Optically the Mark II version of this lens is identical to the original version.

The Fujifilm XF 27mm F2.8 R WR will be available from 18 March 2021 priced at £419 / $399.
