The HP Designjet Z6200 delivers the highest speeds of large-format printers in its price class. Designed for photo labs, digital print shops, advertising agencies, design firms and commercial printers, the Z6200 creates photo-quality prints with a resolution of 2,400 dots per image. The price for the 42-inch model is $8,995 / €11,000 and for the 60-inch model is $15,995 / €18,900.

The Epson Stylus Pro 4900 is a new 17-inch printer offering professional photographers a super-wide colour gamut with automated colour accuracy. Its high level of automation and robust mechanism make the Epson Stylus Pro 4900 a highly productive workhorse for the print studio environment. The Epson 4900 is priced at £2295 and will be available from November 2010.

The 24-inch Epson Stylus Pro 7890 and the 44-inch Epson Stylus Pro 9890 are new large format printers. They have been designed to help professional photographers and the fine art market create true-to-life prints at high speed. The 9890 and 7890 both use Epson’s 8-colour UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta inkset and offer an optional in-line SpectroProofer to ensure repeatable colour accuracy. The Epson Stylus Pro 7890 is priced at £2595 and the Epson Stylus Pro 9890 is priced at £5195. Both models will be available to purchase from 1st January 2011.

Canon USA has announced the Lucia EX Print Sample Request Programme, a service giving consumers the opportunity to receive 8.5-inch by 11-inch sample photographs printed on the new Canon imagePROGRAF iPF8300/6350/6300 large format printers. Through the program, customers will receive three printed images captured by Canon Explorer of Light photographers, which demonstrate the printing capabilities of the imagePROGRAF 12-Colour series and new Lucia EX ink set. Epson today introduced the Epson Stylus NX625, a powerful all-in-one with built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity. The Epson Stylus NX625 features built-in memory card slots and a 2.5-inch color LCD to easily view, select, edit, and print photos without a computer. Utilising Epson’s all-pigment DURABrite Ultra ink, this versatile all-in-one delivers superior photo quality and durable prints that are fade-, smudge- and water-resistant, while also printing a 4x6” photo in as fast as 20 seconds. Kodak has introduced the newest addition to its innovative line of All-in-One (AiO) Inkjet Printers. The Kodak ESP 9250 features Kodak’s proprietary pigmented inks which are designed to deliver richer, more vibrant colours that bond more effectively with paper for superior fade resistance. Prints dry instantly, don’t smear or smudge and are water resistant, even when using a highlighter on documents, the manufacturer claims. With the latest Wi-Fi and networking capabilities on board, users of the Kodak ESP 9250 AiO Inkjet Printer can effortlessly print from anywhere in their home or even from an iPhone (OS 2.2 or later required), iPod Touch (2nd generation) or iPad. Available now, the Kodak ESP 9250 retails for $249.99.

The Canon Selphy CP800 is an ultra-compact photo printer that replaces the existing Canon Selphy CP780. The new Selphy CP800 features a simple user interface alongside a large-button layout and a tilting 6.2cm (2.5”) colour LCD screen. Photos can be selected quickly and easily and lab-quality 4x6” prints are produced in approximately 47 seconds. Prints are dry and ready for handling the second they leave the printer, and a special over-coating provides protection from spills and splashes, so they will remain rich and vivid for up to 100 years when stored in an album. Epson today launched the Stylus Photo PX820FWD wireless All-In-One (AIO) device. The PX820FWD has a 19.8cm smart-navigation touch-panel with integrated touch-screen that puts all its functionality at the user’s fingertips and enables photos to be printed quickly and directly from memory cards and PictBridge-enabled cameras. Offering integrated wireless and Ethernet connectivity for shared printing, scanning and faxing, the Epson Stylus Photo PX820FWD can print a 10x15cm photo in ten seconds. Available from September, the PX820FWD is priced at £299.99.

Canon today added two wireless All-In-One (AIO) devices with Intelligent Touch System to its Pixma range. The new Intelligent Touch System promises easier and quicker menu navigation thanks to capacitive touch technology which picks up on electricity in the users body when a finger glides across the touch surface. The Canon Pixma MG8120 ($299.99, pictured) offers a built-in Film Adapter Unit and boasts improved photo printing times, while the more affordable ($199.99) MG6120 is almost the same thing sans the film adapter. Both the Pixma MG6120 and the Pixma MG8120 feature the recently upgraded versions of Auto Photo Fix II, Easy-PhotoPrint EX and Easy-WebPrint EX technologies and both are are 802.11n Wi-Fi certified.

Epson has introduced its new line of Artisan® all-in-ones – the Artisan 835 (pictured) and Artisan 725. The flagship Artisan 835 boasts a 7.8-inch smart touch panel, a 3.5-inch colour LCD, built-in fax, and a 30-page Automatic Document Feeder, while the Artisan 725 features an enhanced touch panel for easier navigation. Both feature 2.5 times faster wireless connectivity with Wi-Fi n2, wireless printing from an Apple iPhone and the world’s fastest 4”x6” photo print speeds, according to Epson. Epson will be launching three additions to its professional printing range on Stand B13 in Hall 2.2 at Photokina this year. The printers will join Epson’s existing professional printer line-up that will be showcased through a variety of demonstrations during the exhibition. Epson will draw from its relationships with high profile nature photography initiatives; ‘Red Sea 2010: World of Underwater Images’ and ‘Wild Wonders of Europe’, by printing selected photos using Epson large format and professional photo printers. Epson will also support the Photo Industry Association in its world record attempt to construct the world’s largest globe created from photographic images, which will take place during the show.

Canon U.S.A. has unveiled five new Canon Pixma printers sporting a ‘Full HD Movie Print’ feature that lets users print out individual frames from HD movies as still photographs. In addition to this, these new models - including the Canon Pixma MG5220 ($149.99, pictured) and Pixma MP495 ($79.99) Wireless Photo All-in-One printers, the Pixma MG5120 ($129.99) and Pixma MP280 ($69.99) Photo All-in-One printers and the Pixma iP4820 ($99.99) inkjet printer - will feature improvements to Auto Photo Fix II, while Easy-PhotoPrint EX software now allows users to search and use images from Flickr. Note that “Full HD Movie Print” is available from ‘MOV’ movie files created by certain Canon digital cameras only.

HP has launched a new category of Web-enabled printing solutions that will allow people to print from any email device to any new ePrint-enabled printer from anywhere in the world through the new HP ePrint technology. The HP ePrint platform enables people to send the files they want to print from their mobile devices to HP printers that have their own e-mail addresses. This new line of ePrint enabled HP printers include the HP Photosmart Premium e-All-in-One, the HP Photosmart Plus e-All-in-One and the HP Photosmart Premium Fax e-All-in-One, which are priced at £179.99, £149.99 and £99.99, respectively. Finally, the HP Photosmart Premium Fax e-All-in-One (£229.99, pictured) allows users to fax, scan and copy, using the automatic two-sided document feeder; plus print photos and web content easily.

Announced at the beginning of the year, the Kodak ESP 7250 printer is now officially launched in the United Kingdom. Compatible with the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch (second generation), the Kodak ESP 7250 features easy-to-use wireless functions, an intuitive control panel and the lowest total ink replacement cost in the industry, according to Kodak. Apart from its wireless capabilities, the Kodak ESP 7250 features a built-in duplexer, intelligent paper sensor and auto-engaging photo trays saving time and money, and a 2.4” LCD screen as well as a number of memory card slots. Industry analysists BERTL Inc. have awarded a five-star “Exceptional” rating to Canon’s large-format imagePROGRAF iPF8300, iPF 6350 and iPF6300 printers. “The five-star rating from BERTL, Inc., recognises the significant investment Canon has made in developing technologies that make the new imagePROGRAF models an ideal solution for the photography, graphic arts and photography markets,” said Jim Rosetta, vice president and general manger, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. HP is demonstrating its new digital printing solutions at Ipex 2010, the major graphic arts tradeshow of the year. Highlights include the HP T200 Colour Inkjet Web Press (expected to be available in 2011), the HP Indigo 7500 Digital Press, the more affordable HP Indigo 3550 Digital Press, the HP Designjet Z5200 PostScript Printer (pictured), the HP Scitex large-format printers, and more. Ipex 2010, held in the N.E.C., Birmingham, opened today and runs until 25 May.

Canon UK has announced a new cashback offer on the Canon Pixma MP560 all-in-one printer. Legal residents of the UK and Ireland who purchase a Pixma MP560 before 10 June 2010 can claim £30 / €35 cashback. Claims must be received by 10 July 2010. The Canon Pixma MP560 is the most compact Canon inkjet printer to have both wireless capabilities and built-in Auto Duplex Printing, and also is the first Canon Pixma printer to have the ability to print out pictures directly from a USB Flash Memory device.
