The Polaroid Grey Label GL10 instant mobile printer is now available. “Featuring a truly portable size, easy-to-use features and ZINK Zero Ink Technology, the Polaroid GL10 acts as a portable photo booth, giving new life to images stored on cell phones, hard drives and digital cameras through the Polaroid instant experience,” the company says. The printer is capable of producing high-quality 3"x4” prints in about 45 seconds. Currently, the Polaroid Grey Label GL10 is available at Bloomingdale’s, with USA-wide availability slated for mid June. The suggested retail price of the printer is $169.99, while a pack of thirty sheets of ZINK GL10 photo paper is available for $19.99.

The Canon imagePROGRAF iPF8300 has been awarded the accolade of ‘Best Photographic Printer of the Year 2011’ by the European Digital Press Association (EDP). The EDP commended the iPF8300 for its 12-colour inkset and improved colour gamut, as well as the printer’s “use as an all-round commercial printer that gives the user more options”. The Canon iPF8300 44-inch wide large-format printer was announced last year, and it “has been growing in popularity in the photographic, proofing and production markets since its launch,” according to Canon.

Ilford has announced that ICC profiles to maximise results when using the Ilford Galerie range of print media on the latest Canon printers are available for free at the Ilford website. Thanks to the Ilford ICC profiles, professional photographers using Galerie media with the new Canon printers (to wit, the imagePROGRAF iPF6300S and iPF8300S models) can take full advantage of the colour possibilities. The wide colour gamut achieved includes superb blacks, clear whites and rich jewel tones for sharp contrast and vivid images, the company says.

The Epson Stylus Photo R2000 is a new A3+ high-gloss photo printer that uses 50% larger ink cartridges for fewer cartridge changes. The new A3+, 8-colour R2000 printer delivers high-quality photographic prints using Epson UltraChrome Hi-Gloss pigment ink and features Wi-Fi, USB and Ethernet connectivity. The Epson R2000 will be available from May 2011, priced at £419.99 / $499.99.

Epson has published two Masterclass videos featuring tips and tricks from Epson Certified Digigraphie printmaker Gary Wornell. In the first Epson Masterclass video, Professional Digital Photo Printing, Wornell tells us about the importance of accurate colour representation and how by using large format inkjet technology he is able to accurately reproduce captured images. The second video, Masterclass Tutorial for Image Production, is a sequel to the first one, featuring more printing tips and tricks. You can view both videos below.

The Technical Image Press Association has honoured the Fujifilm FinePix X100 large-sensor digital compact camera, the Fujifilm 3D print service and the Frontier DL600 minilab with TIPA awards. The X100 has been recognised as 2011’s best premium camera, the Fujifilm 3D print service has been deemed the best photo service, while the Frontier DL600 has won the accolade of ‘Best Finishing System’. Adrian Clarke, Director of Fujifilm’s Digital Products said “The TIPA awards are the most coveted photo awards in Europe and for Fujifilm to win three awards is a massive achievement.”

Canon has won four awards from the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA). The Association has found the Canon EOS 600D (read review) to be the best entry-level digital SLR camera released in the past 12 months, awarded the Best Superzoom Camera title to the Powershot SX230 HS (pictured), honoured the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L II USM lens with the “Best Professional Lens” award, and hailed the Pixma MG8150 as the best multifunction photo printer.

Two Epson printers and an Epson scanner received TIPA awards this year. The Epson Stylus Photo R3000 won the title, “Best Expert Photo Printer”, the Epson Stylus Pro 4900 was announced the “Best Large Format Printer”, while the “Best Photo Scanner” award has been scooped up by the Epson Perfection V330 Photo (pictured).

Kodak has just announced a new all-in-one printer, copier and scanner called the Kodak ESP Office 2170. Featuring simplified Wi-Fi set-up (802.11 b/g/n) and connectivity, the Kodak ESP Office 2170 enables mobile printing of photos from an iPhone, iPod touch, iPad or Wi-Fi enabled Blackberry device with the Kodak Pic Flick App. The ESP Office 2170 also offers important time-saving features, including an intelligent paper sensor that automatically adjusts printer settings based on paper size and type. The devicewill be available in the US by June 2011 for $149.99.

Epson America is expanding its Stylus Pro line of printing solutions with a wider selection of Designer Edition bundles that combine Epson Stylus Pro printers with the EFI eXpress for Epson Software RIP. Specifically, the Epson Stylus Pro 4900 Designer Edition is now joined by the Epson Stylus Pro 3880, 7890 and 9890 Designer Editions. All four Epson Stylus Pro Designer Edition bundles are now available through authorised Epson Professional Graphics resellers at prices ranging from $1,195 to $5,495. Additionally, Epson is currently offering customers mail-in rebates of up to $750 on these bundles. Note that the products must be purchased from an Epson Authorised Professional Imaging Reseller before 31 May 2011, and claims must be postmarked within 30 days from the purchase date..

The DreamLabo 5000 commercial inkjet printer marks Canon’s European entry into production photo printing. The device offers the production photo printing market a viable alternative to silver halide technology and, according to Canon, “will revitalise the photo printing market”. Incorporating Canon’s FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) technology, the wide print head enables the printing of high-quality photos and detailed text to support a variety of high-value-added output, from premium photo albums, photo books, photo calendars, photo collages and other merchandise. The DreamLabo 5000 will be available to photo shops across Europe from early 2012.

Canon U.S.A. has announced two new large-format printers. The 44-inch imagePROGRAF iPF8300S and 24-inch imagePROGRAF iPF6300S will be showcased at the Wedding & Portrait Photographer International (WPPI) Convention at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, February 21-23, 2011 in the Canon booth, number 401. The Canon imagePROGRAF iPF8300S will have a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $4,995 while the imagePROGRAF iPF6300S will have an MSRP of $2,995. Both models are expected to begin shipping in April.

The Canon iX6550 / iX6540 is the most compact A3+ printer in the PIXMA range. 30 percent smaller than its predecessor, the iX6550 / iX6540 is aimed at advanced home and office users looking for superb quality when producing photos or documents. The Canon iX6550 will be available across Europe from March 2011, and the iX6540 will be available across Middle East and Africa from March 2011.

The Canon Pixma MX884 is a premium All-in-One device offering Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity. Using 5 individually replaceable inks, the Pixma MX884 can produce photos of “exceptional quality” with minimum 1 picolitre ink droplets, and maximum 9,600dpi print resolution. The device can print border-less 4x6”/10x15cm photos in approximately 20 seconds, and is able to scan documents and prints at up to 2400dpi. Essentially the same product as the Pixma MX885 - which is intended for European markets -, the Canon Pixma MX884 launches across Middle East and Africa from March 2011.

Canon today announced the launch of three new All-In-One models, the Pixma MX420, Pixma MX410 and Pixma MX360. Replacing the Pixma MX350 MX340 and MX320, the new models boast improved print speeds at a maximum print resolution of 4,800x1,200dpi. The Pixma MX410 and Pixma MX420 also offer users Wi-Fi connectivity for easy sharing across a wireless network. Additionally, the Pixma MX420 features an easy-to-view 6.2cm colour TFT display that ensures users can easily see what actions they are selecting. The devices witll be abailabale from March, pricing to be confirmaed.

The Epson Stylus Photo R3000 is a new 13-inch / A3+ printer. Designed for professional photographers and fine artists, the Epson R3000 delivers gallery-quality black-and-white output and vivid color prints. The R3000 features high-capacity individual ink cartridges, advanced media handling to support a wide range of paper types, and Ethernet and wireless-N connectivity. The Epson Stylus Photo R3000 will be available in March for $849 / £699.99.

The Kodak ESP C310 all-in-one printer provides wireless printing and easy-to-use features at an affordable price. Featuring simplified Wi-Fi set up that allows effortless connectivity to wireless networks in the home or even to iPhone, iPod touch or iPad mobile devices; the Kodak ESP C310 works with a new No. 30 line of Kodak’s proprietary pigmented inks and has a 1.5” LCD screen with simplified control panel for easy copying, scanning and printing. Selected as an honoree in the Eco-Design and Sustainability Category for the CES 2011 Innovation Awards, the ESP C310 uses up to 71 percent less energy while in standby mode than previous Kodak all-in-one printers. Available by April 2011, the device retails for $99.99.

Canon UK has announced three cashback promotions for consumers. Those who purchase an EOS 7D or 5D Mark II between now and 31 January 2011 can claim up to £100 / €120 savings on selected EF lenses. The second offer concerns those who buy an EOS 500D digital SLR camera or one of three selected PowerShot models before 13 January, while the third is for consumers purchasing either a Pixma Pro9000 Mark II or a Pixma 9500 Mark II between now and 27 January. All of these offers are open to 18+ residents of the UK and Ireland, and valid on purchases made in one of these two countries.

The Epson Stylus Photo PX660 is a new all-in-one printer, scanner and copier designed to meet the needs of the photo enthusiast. Users can print pictures directly from memory cards, USB drives and PictBridge-enabled cameras. Printing a 10x15cm photo takes 12 seconds, and you can personalise CDs and DVDs by printing directly onto suitable discs. Priced at £129.99, the Epson Stylus Photo PX660 uses dye-based Epson Claria ink, and will be available to purchase from 1st December.
