The PowerEye professional cinematography drone is now available for global pre-order. PowerEye features PowerVision’s integrated Dual Viewing capability, which gives multiple users the ability to see video simultaneously from a First Person View and a Subject Matter View. With Dual Viewing a cinematographer has the ability to see what is in front of the PowerEye while in flight through a dedicated FPV camera housed in the nose of the aircraft and a separate gimbal-mounted camera can be simultaneously directed to action on the ground or other areas in the sky. PowerEye is available in two camera models. The “PowerEye Professional” is equipped with a Lumix G 11mm F2.5 ASPH 4K UHD camera.  The “PowerEye Thermal” is equipped with a state-of-the-art Thermal/Natural Light Switchable Camera that comes with two integrated light sensors and two lenses. Through the PowerEye App, users can switch between the thermal and the natural light setting with one touch. Using the Thermal/Natural Light Switchable Camera, cinematographers can capture a spectrum of light not visible to the unaided eye. The PowerEye Professional is priced at $3,988.

DJI today revealed its Mavic Pro drone – a portable, powerful and easy-to-use remote-controlled helicopter featuring DJI’s most innovative flight technology in a sleek, foldable package. Small enough to toss in a bag and easy enough to launch quickly whenever the time and place are right, the DJI Mavic Pro's folding design compresses the entire drone to practically the size of a water bottle. Equipped with a stabilised, raw-capable 4K/12-megapixel camera and a visual navigation system, with a 4.3-mile range and 27-minute flight time, the Mavic Pro can be operated by the powerful long range remote controller, or simply by your smartphone at shorter range. When controlled by a smartphone, the whole system can be set up and airborne in less than a minute. The Mavic Pro’s U.S. retail price will be $999 with the remote controller, and $749 without.

Sony have announced that the FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM OSS lens has been delayed by 3 months for new orders. In an official statement on Sony Japan's website, Sony say that it will take 3 months for them to catch-up with the production. The Sony FE 70-200mm F2.8 lens was originally announced back in February 2016.

Phew, what a day! Press Day at Photokina 2016 turned out to be much bigger than we expected, with flagship products seemingly being announced on the hour, every hour. So here's a handy roundup of all the highlights if you haven't been able to keep up. We'll be adding more products as they're announced.

Day 2 Update: We've taken a closer look at the Fujifilm GFX 50S, Sony A99 II and Canon EOS M5 cameras and Sigma's new lenses, as well as having an in-depth discussion with Olympus about the new flagship E-M1 Mark II camera. There have also been further announcements from the likes of SanDisk, Lexar, Phase One, Metz, Bowens, Broncolor and Kodak, all of which are listed below.

Day 3 Update: We've been busy bringing you hands-on photos of all the important new cameras, lenses and accessories that have been launched at Photokina, plus taking time to chat with Canon, Nikon and Sigma.

Day 4 Update: More hands-on looks at more interesting new products, including a variety of lenses, plus an interview with Kodak about their new 4K360VR camera.

Day 5 Update: An interview with Hasselblad, plus hands-on photos of 3 Nikon Coolpix cameras, an array of Zeiss, Meyer-Optik and Voigtländer lenses and a number of interesting accessories.

Voigtländer are showing off prototypes of a Nikon F-mount Nokton f/1.4, a Sony E-mount Macro Apo-Lanthar 65mm f/2 and an M-mount Heliar 1:3.5 50mm lens at Photokina. All three lenses are expected to be available in Spring 2017.
