The Irix Cine 11mm T4.3 is a new cine lens offering an extremely short focal length, rectilinear image projection and a large image circle of 43.3mm.

The Irix Cine 11mm T4.3 will be offered in the following lens mounts: Canon EF, Sony E, MFT and Arri PL. The price and availability will be announced shortly.

Canon has announced the latest additions to its professional XA-series with three new 4K UHD camcorders – the XA55, XA50 and XA40.

The XA55 / XA50 is a 4K UHD camcorder with a 1.0-type sensor, Dual Pixel CMOS AF and 15x Optical zoom, with the XA55 model featuring 3G-SDI.

The XA40 is an ultra-compact 4K UHD camcorder with 1/2.3-type sensor and 20x Optical zoom.

Canon today announces the expansion of its 4K camcorder LEGRIA range with two new models – the LEGRIA HF G50 and LEGRIA HF G60.

The LEGRIA HF G50 has a 1/2.3-type sensor with manual control, coupled with premium optics and processing for superior image quality.

The LEGRIA HF G60, with its 1.0-type sensor, provides advanced users with the ability to shoot vivid and stunning movies in 4K UHD.

The Canon VIXIA HF G50 is the first Vixia G-series camcorder to feature 4K recording. Featuring a genuine wide-angle Canon 20x (29.3-601mm) optical zoom lens, the VIXIA HF G50 provides a well-rounded feature set at an affordable price point.

The Canon VIXIA HF G50 4K UHD video camcorder is scheduled to be available in April 2019 for an estimated retail price of $1099.

Canon have added two new ruggedly designed additions to the VIXIA family of digital camcorders – the VIXIA HF W11 and HF W10. Both models are waterproof (up to 16.4 ft. / 5m), shockproof and dustproof and are capable of functioning in temperatures as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit /-10 degrees Celsius.

The VIXIA HF W11 and VIXIA HF W10 camcorders are both scheduled to be available in April 2019 for an estimated retail price of $449.99 and $399.99 respectively

Sharp have unveiled a new 8K Cinema Camera at CES 2019, simply known as the "8K video camera.

YouTube channel Kinotika spotted the Micro Four Thirds camera on the Sharp stand, which is being displayed as a working prototype at the show.

There aren't too many concrete details available yet, but the upcoming Sharp 8K Video Camera will offer 8K recording at 30p using the H.265 codec from its Micro Four Thirds sensor, have a 5-inch vari-angle LCD screen that's hinged at the side (great for vlogging), and offer in-camera image stabilisation for the wide range of Micro Four Thirds lenses on the market.

The Sharp 8K Video Camera is due to be more officially unveiled at the NAB 2019 show in April, but that hasn't stopped Sharp from announcing a price - under $5000, to be inexact - so expect it to retail for $4999...

The nearest rival for the Sharp 8K Video Camera is the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, which costs a lot less than $5K, but as the name suggests "only" offers 4K video recording.

Sigma have announced the development of three new SIGMA CINE lenses in the FF High Speed Prime Line: 28mm T1.5 FF, 40mm T1.5 FF and 105mm T1.5 FF.

The SIGMA CINE LENS series will soon include LPL mount, the new lens mount optimized for the large format sensor released by ARRI in 2018. The planned release date for SIGMA CINE LENSES in LPL mount is 2019 or later.

With the touch of a button, the Vuze XR transforms from a 360° camera to a VR180 camera, enabling content creators to spontaneously tell any story, from every angle.

Available in the fourth quarter of 2018, the Vuze XR Camera will be available for purchase in the £400 price range. Additional camera details, specifications and pricing will be available in the coming months.

Lucid is working with Hollywood camera maker RED to build the next generation prosumer 3D/4-View (4V) camera for 8K video and image capture. The new camera is the first dual camera to give users full 8K video and picture capabilities converting to 4V in real-time while allowing them to shoot like professionals with dynamically adjustable lens distances for the best 3D focus and zoom. By attaching the soon-to-be-released modular holographic phone--RED Hydrogen One--to the camera, users will be able to view 3D/4V content in post and live as if it were the viewfinder.

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K features dual native ISO, full 4/3 HDR sensor, 13 stops of dynamic range, and ProRes or RAW recording to internal SD/UHS-II and CFast cards, or even external USB‑C drives. The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K will be available from Blackmagic Design resellers worldwide later this year for US$1,295.

The Z CAM E2 Cinematic Camera is a Micro Four Thirds camera that can shoot 4K video at 120fps. Priced at $1,999 USD, the Z CAM E2 uses the Micro Four Thirds lens mount and has a 4/3" Sony CMOS sensor.

Sony is expanding its Large Format Sensor category with the new XDCAM handheld camcorder FS II. The Sony FS5 II features an all-new look with a refined picture tone to capture natural highlights, subtle, alluring and well rendered facial tones and a softer tonal look emphasising the portrayal of a person. Complete with 4K HDR and 120fps performance and RAW capabilities, the new Super 35mm camcorder combines outstanding image quality with an ergonomic modular frame. In addition to S-Log 2/3, the FS5 II supports Sony’s Instant HDR Workflow to produce HDR content for quick post-production without the need of grading.

The FS5 II is planned to be available in June, with expected pricing as follows:

• PXW-FS5M2, body only — $4,750 US and $5,940 CA
• PXW-FS5M2K, with lens — $5,250 US and $6,560 CA

The EOS C700 FF is Canon's first full-frame cinema camera. At the heart of the EOS C700 FF is a new Canon-developed CMOS image sensor with a total of 5952 (H) x 3140 (V) photosites and a digital cinema 17:9 aspect ratio, which gives it the same image circle size as the full frame EOS 5D camera series. The EOS C700 FF EF and EOS C700 FF PL are scheduled to be available in July 2018 for an estimated retail price of $33,000.00.

Canon have also announced the CN-E20mm T1.5 L F, a full-manual 20mm Cinema Prime Lens for EF Mount cameras, scheduled to begin shipping in fall 2018.

The Canon LEGRIA HF G26 is a new Full HD camcorder designed to satisfy video enthusiasts’ creative needs and instill confidence when capturing content. The compact and portable LEGRIA HF G26 offers a 28.8mm wide-angle lens with 20x optical zoom, superb optics, low-light capability and 8-blade circular aperture, which can create beautiful circular bokeh effects.

The LEGRIA HF G26 will be available from April 2018 for £899.99 / €1089.99.

The compact and lightweight Canon XA15, XA11 and VIXIA HF G21 camcorders all feature a Full HD CMOS sensor and a 20x HD optical zoom lens. The Canon XA15, XA11 and VIXIA HF G21 Full HD camcorders are all scheduled to be available at the end of December 2017 for an estimated retail price of $1899.00, $1399.00 and $999.00 respectively.

360° camera pioneer Detu has launched the F4 Plus an 8K Virtual Reality Panoramic Camera. Designed for professional photographers and VR content creators, the Detu F4 Plus features four multi-layered 200° fisheye lenses, and records 360° videos at a resolution of 7,680x3,840 pixels and a frame rate of 30 frames per second. Engineered to enable users to livestream with ease, the camera can connect to a computer via an Ethernet cable, or wireless live streaming is possible over 2.4G and 5G dual frequency Wi-Fi. The removable 4800mAh lithium-ion battery supports up to 120 minutes of continuous shooting. RED have announced the Monstro 8K VV, a new cinematic full-frame sensor for WEAPON cameras. Billed as an "evolutionary step beyond the RED Dragon 8K VV sensor," the new Monstro 8K VV promises improvements in image quality, including dynamic range (to the tune of 17+ stops!) and shadow detail. The combination of a WEAPON camera and the Monstro 8K VV imager offers full-frame lens coverage, captures 8K full format motion at up to 60 fps, produces detailed 35.4-megapixel stills, and delivers data speeds of up to 300 MB/s. “RED’s internal sensor programme continues to push the boundaries of pixel design and Monstro is the materialization of our relentless pursuit to make the absolute best image sensors on the planet,” says Jarred Land, President of RED Digital Cinema. “The full-frame 8K VV Monstro provides unprecedented dynamic range and breathtaking color accuracy with full support for our IPP2 pipeline.” The Monstro 8K VV will replace the current RED Dragon sensor in RED’s lineup, and customers that had previously placed an order for a Dragon 8K VV imager will be offered this new sensor instead.

The GoPro HERO6 is a new action camera that shoots 4K video at 60fps and Full HD at 240fps. This is enabled by a new, custom designed GP1 processor, which also promises improved image quality, dynamic range, low-light performance and "dramatically improved" video stabilisation over previous HERO camera generations. Similarly to its predecessor, the GoPro HERO6 is waterproof to 10 metres, and also offers support for QuikStoriesan app feature that makes it easy to share short videos of your adventures, and compatibility with Karma and existing GoPro mounts. Canon today announced three new additions to the company’s video camcorder lineup: the XF405 4K UHD Video Camcorder, the XF400 4K UHD Video Camcorder and the Vixia GX10 4K UHD Video Camcorder. The Canon XF405 and XF400 are both ideal for applications like broadcast interviews, documentaries and weddings. Designed with advanced amateurs and hobbyists in mind, the VIXIA GX10 4K UHD Video Camcorder provides the same image quality as the Canon XF405 and XF400.
