Broncolor have unveiled the new Broncolor Beautybox 65 light shaper. Billed as a portable alternative to the beauty dish, the Beautybox 65 includes a reversible gold/white centre counter reflector, providing two options for neutral colour, or a warming effect. World renowned adventure and commercial photographer and Explorer of Light Tyler Stableford will host a Canon Live Learning EOS Destination Workshop at Maroon Bells in the Rocky Mountains in Aspen. Fantasea have launched the Radiant 2500 and Radiant Pro 2500  video lights, which offer a variety of quality lighting options for enhancing colour and light in underwater videos and photographs. Iridient Digital has released Iridient Developer 3.0.4 for Mac OS X. This update includes further improvements to the v3.5 noise reduction specifically for monochrome conversions and lowers the minimum sensitivity levels for Colour, Colour Aliasing and Luminance Grain Smoothness when using monochrome processing. A Show of Hands by photographer Tim Booth is an inspiring collection of the hands of Britain. A display of intricately striking monochrome images, the book was inspired by Tim Booth’s grandmother when he photographed her 94 year hands and found inspiration in the stories they could tell. Now spanning 20 years of photography, the labour of love has continued into a collection of over 110 hands dedicated to an art, job or tradition in the UK. Each portrait – shot only in natural light - is accompanied by a short story and quote from the sitter to put the hands in context of the history behind them.“I flick through this book and even now I feel humbled at the people I was able to meet and talk to and the memories these hands evoke,” explains Tim. “What started with my grandmother has taken me on an incredible and fascinating journey and I’m delighted to be able to share the hands of these wonderful people.” A Show of Hands will become available on 6 October 2015.

The Impossible Project has announced an instant film collaboration with Skateistan, an international not-for-profit organisation that uses skateboarding to change kids' lives. Starting out as a grassroots 'Sport for Development' project on the streets of Kabul in 2007, Skateistan has become an award-winning, international NGO with projects in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa. Influenced by Afghan textiles, the special-edition, black-and-white Skateistan instant film features eight white frames decorated with the signature Skateistan details. “Having enjoyed working with Impossible last year we were excited to further cement our relationship,” said Skateistan founder and Executive Director Oliver Percovich. “It is a fantastic feeling to think that people will be shooting our film all over the world and in turn creating more opportunities and empowering the young people that we work with.” The film is available online from the Impossible website for €21.

Hasselblad has announced the appointment of a new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Effective 12th October, Johan Åhlén, a former brand, marketing and sales expert with Scandinavian Airlines assumes responsibility for Hasselblad's marketing initiatives. Gitzo have announced a completely new range of Center Ball Heads. Gitzo have unveiled their new Traveler Tripod range featuring state of the art “Carbon eXact” tubes. Stiffer than the antecedents’ Carbon 6X tubes, the new tubes include High Modulus carbon fibre, and have larger tube diameters. The new tripods also boast a new, compact leg lock system called Traveler G-lock. The new, curved external form provides good grip, whilst the internal O-ring achieves softer operation and reduces dust and grit entering the locks. NYC-based fashion photographer Emily Soto has shot a series of photographs with the Lomography Petzval lens, which will be on display at the Lomography Gallery Store Soho from 20th August - 10th September. Soto is known for her unique style and professional aptitude and she is one of the top names requested by fashion editors.. Concurrent with her "Petzval Portraits" exhibition, she will discuss her work and experience using the New Petzval Art Lens in her work onThursday 27th August at 6pm. Elinchrom, Phottix and Sekonic have announced plans to launch the "most revolutionary lighting control system ever." The integration of select existing technologies as well as the joint development of new ones from this global alliance carries the promise of creating a creative lighting toolkit allowing photographers to dramatically expand their repertoire. Currently, Phottix and Elinchrom design engineers are collaborating on enhanced features for the next generation of the Skyport transmitter, which will include hyper-sync functionality. Additionally, photographers using the Phottix Indra 360 TTL (pictured) or Indra 500 TTL lighting systems will soon have the ability to use the broad range of Elinchrom light-shapers. Sekonic is collaborating with both Phottix and Elinchrom to finalise two new 478-series LiteMaster Pro flash meters; one for Elinchrom featuring in-meter power control and one for Phottix that allows for triggering of groups from the meter.

EIZO USA have announces the new ColorEdge CS270/CS240 Professional Photo Kit – an all-in-one colour-managed display solution package for photo professionals. The kit consists of an EIZO EX2 photometer, a copy of EIZO's ColorNavigator 6 software and either an EIZO ColorEdge CS270 or an EIZO ColorEdge CS240 monitor (pictured). Samyang has announced a new line of professional video-cinema lenses. The Samyang Xeen range currently consists of three lenses in 24mm, 50mm, and 85mm focal lengths. On a Super 35 sensor, the lenses will give an equivalent view of 35mm, 75mm, and 155mm, which are focal lengths that are commonly used in a variety of cinema and video productions. Three more lenses are planned for release next year for a complete set of six lenses. All Xeen lenses feature a maximum aperture of T1.5, Multi-Nano-Coatings and "outstanding resolving power," and all of them are available in 5 fittings: Canon, Nikon, Sony E, Micro Four Thirds and PL- Each lens has an RRP of £1,600.
