Nikon Japan has issued a product advisory to owners of the Nikon DF-N1000 electronic viewfinder. According to the company, the EVF may get stuck on the Nikon 1 V3 compact system camera, making removal difficult or impossible. The issue affects DF-N1000 units with serial numbers lower than 11003000. Nikon Japan has vowed to repair the defective EVFs free of charge.

Lomography has updated its LomoScanner iPhone app. First launched alongside the Lomography Film Scanner, the LomoScanner software allows users to convert negative scans into positives, stitch together scans into seamless panoramas and animate 35mm analogue movies shot using the Lomography LomoKino camera.Version 2 has a cleaner interface and offers manual controls, revamped panorama stitching, fuss-free moive animation and instant sharing. Currently the app is available for iOS 7 only, with the company planning to update the Android version in the near future.

Sony have revealed that the FE 16-35mm f/4 ZA OSS and FE PZ 28-135mm f/4 G OSS power-zoom will be the next lenses released for their full-frame mirrorless camera range. The FE 16-35mm will be a new ultra-wide-angle lens developed with Carl Zeiss, and will feature a constant aperture of f/4 throughout the ultra-wide-angle zoom range. The FE 28-135mm f/4 will be a new power-zoom lens developed primarily for shooting video. Both lenses are expected to be released in the summer of 2014. The exact release dates and pricing have yet to be announced.

British institution Birds Eye has appointed Martin Parr to undertake a documentary survey of how Britain eats today. Parr, who has famously captured the personal tastes and habits of Britons for more than 22 years, will work with Birds Eye over the next four months to produce a unique snapshot of what makes up the typical, modern mealtime in Britain.
