Kodak EasyShare Z915The Kodak EasyShare Z915 is a new compact digital camera with an image-stabilized 10x zoom lens. The Z915’s Smart Capture feature automatically detects the scene being shot and adjusts the camera settings to capture the best image. A 2.5 inch LCD display and use of AA batteries completes the headline specs. Sony DPP-FP97The Sony DPP-FP97 and DPP-FP67 are two new compact photo printers. Both models produce 4 x 6-inch photo prints - the DPP-FP97 in about 45 seconds, and the DPP-FP67 in about 63 seconds. The Sony DPP-FP97 comes with frame, scrapbooking and calendar templates, an auto touch-up feature, 3.5-inch LCD screen, HDMI-out port, plus a software keyboard for quick type messages and personalized greeting cards. In May, the DPP-FP97 digital photo printer will be available for about $200, and the DPP-FP67 model for about $120.

The Magnum Expression Photography Award is a new international competition which aims to emphasise the value of storytelling through the use of imagery. The theme of this year’s Expression Photography Award is “communities”. From March 16th to September 30th 2009, participants will be able to submit eight to 15 images, a biography and statement about their project via Magnum’s website. The winner of the Magnum Expression Photography Award will receive an HP Designjet Z3200 Photo Printer and supplies and a $10,000 grant. The 19 finalists and overall winner will be announced later in the year.

4Gb Eye-Fi Share and Explore VideoThe 4Gb Eye-Fi Share and Explore Video wireless memory cards will upload videos directly from a digital camera to a computer and the Web. The new cards automatically geotag photos and videos and can upload them directly to one of more than 25 online photo sharing and social networking sites. The 4GB Eye-Fi Share Video will cost $79 and the 4GB Eye-Fi Explore Video $99. In addition, Eye-Fi’s current cards have been reduced in price, to $49 for the 2GB Eye-Fi Home and $59 for the 2GB Eye-Fi Share. Nikon Coolpix P6000Nikon have released a new firmware update for the Coolpix P6000 compact camera. The following improvements have been made in version 1.2.

- When shooting in a user setting mode at an image quality setting of NRW (RAW) + Fine, NRW (RAW) + Normal, or NRW (RAW) + Basic and Distortion control enabled, some JPEG images were corrupted. This issue has been resolved. 
- As distortion control cannot be used in conjunction with interval timer shooting, settings have now been modified so that they cannot be enabled simultaneously.
- Electric current consumption has been reduced.
- When shooting in “P”, “S”, “A”, or “M” mode at an image size setting other than 13M 4224 ×3168 and an image quality setting of NRW (RAW) + Fine, NRW (RAW) + Normal, or NRW (RAW) + Basic, the image size setting switched to 13M 4224 ×3168 when the camera was turned off and then turned on again. This issue has been resolved.
