Press Release

The New SLR Magic 10mm T2.1 HyperPrime CINE and SLR Magic 77mm ND 0.4-1.8 ND Filter

United Kingdom (September 4th, 2014) - SLR Magic is pleased to announce the 10mm T2.1 HyperPrime Cine Lens which expands the line-up of the popular HyperPrime portfolio of lenses and the complimentary 77mm 0.4-1.8 ND filter.

An ultra wide angle lens which opens up many new creative possibilities, particular suited to architectural, interior and landscape photography and cinematography.

Designed exclusively for the Micro Four Thirds (MFT) mount, it offers a 20mm focal length in 35mm format equivalency. Like all the HyperPrimes the 10mm has an ultra fast maximum aperture of T2.1, ideal for low-light photography and cinematography. For cinematographers in particular this is a delight with the integration of aperture and focus gearing and a silent “clickless” aperture ring.

As usual with SLR Magic lenses, it has been designed to meet the demands of professional photographers and cinematographers with its solid anodised finish and precision manufacture.

Additionally we have our new SLR Magic 77 ND 0.4-1.8 ND filter. A solid variable neutral density filter providing a reduction of about 1.3 to 6 stops. The 0.4 to 1.8 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. The degree of density is easily controlled by rotating the front filter ring via the non-removable lever. By slowing your exposure time you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Both filter substrates are combined into one filter ring, giving this filter a low profile to eliminate vignetting on most lenses. The front filter ring diameter is 86mm in diameter, further reducing the likelihood of vignetting on wide angles lenses such as the SLR Magic 10mm T2.1 HyperPrime CINE lens.

The SLR Magic 10mm T2.1 HyperPrime CINE lens will be available from resellers at the end of October 2014 with a MSRP of £699 / €869. The complimentary SLR Magic will be available from October 2014 with a MRSP of £149 / £189.
