Sharpness at 85mm

For this test, the Canon RF 85mm F2 Macro IS STM lens was attached to a Canon EOS R5 body, which was in turn mounted to a sturdy tripod. Exposure delay mode was activated. Tonal and colour variance across the crops are due to change in natural light during the session.

Center and edge sharpness are both excellent wide open at f/2, and outstanding between f/2.8 and f/16. At f/22 sharpness across the frame is beginning to drop-off due to diffraction, and f/29 is best avoided altogether.
