Sharpness at 90mm
For these sharpness tests the Fujifilm XF 90mm F2 R LM WR lens was attached to a Fujifilm X-T1 body, which in turn was mounted on a sturdy tripod. Slight tonal changes are due to slight changes in natural light during the session.
The full frame at 90mm
The centre is remarkably sharp wide-open at f/2, with peak performance achieved in the f/2.8-f/8 range. Diffraction is only really noticeable at f/16.
The edges are slightly soft from f/2 through to f/2.8, sharpening up sufficiently at f/4, with f/8 the optimum setting.
