Conclusion

The Meyer-Optik-Goerlitz Trioplan 100mm f/2.8 lens can create some wonderful bokeh effects that simply can't be achieved with other lenses. It is a specialist tool, however, that needs to be used in the right shooting conditions, both from a subject, distance and lighting point of view. It even comes with a quick 4-step guide to creating that lovely soap bubble bokeh, which you'll need to refer to to get up and running. Build quality is outstanding, although we did miss having hard stops on the aperture ring.

Priced at €1,499.00, it's not exactly an impulse purchase either, so you really need to make sure that the Meyer-Optik-Goerlitz Trioplan 100mm f/2.8 suits the subjects that you photograph, and you like the very distinctive effect that it can achieve under the right conditions. If that's the case, we can definitely recommend this lens as a creative tool like no other.
