Sharpness at 20mm

The sharpness tests for this review were carried out using a real-world subject rather than a test chart. The Nikkor 24mm f1.4 lens was attached to a Nikon D750 body, which in turn was mounted on a sturdy tripod. Exposure Delay Mode was activated. Slight tonal changes are due to slight changes in natural light during the session.

Cente sharpness is quite good wide open, very good at f/2.8, and nothing short of excellent between f/4 and f/11. At f/16, centre sharpness is still very high, although lens contrast is lower than at the other settings. You need to stop down to f/4 to get acceptable results at the edges of the frame.
