Sharpness at 28mm

The sharpness tests for this review were carried out using a real-world subject rather than a test chart. The AF-S Nikkor 28mm f/1.4E ED lens was attached to a Nikon D750 body, which in turn was mounted on a sturdy tripod. Exposure Delay Mode was activated. Slight tonal changes are due to slight changes in natural light during the session.

Sharpness is quite good wide open, very good at f/2, and nothing short of excellent between f/2.8 and f/11. At f/16, sharpness is still very high, although lens contrast is lower than at the other settings. An impressive performance.
