Conclusion

The Rogue FlashBender 2 XL Pro Lighting System is a great idea for those photographers who want the versatility of a flash modifier system, but don’t work in a studio environment, and/or don’t want to carry or move heavy lighting gear around.

It’s ideal for event photographers, such as wedding photographers, who can easily pack the Rogue FlashBender 2 XL Pro Lighting System in a bag and just bring it out when it’s necessary. The fact that it’s so light means you can work with off-camera flash quickly and easily, moving the flash around as you need it, rather than the faff of adjusting lighting rigs and so on.

The final effect is impressive, and although it’s never going to be as good as using a purpose built, full-sized softbox, the trade off for having something so portable and light makes it worth it.

If you frequently use off-camera flash to light your portraits, it’s definitely worth investigating the system, and comes highly recommended. The fact that you get a few different modifying options for less than £100 also makes it great value for money, too.
