Tamron has just announced the development of a 60mm f2 macro lens for APS-C DSLRs. The Tamron SP AF 60mm f/2 Di II MACRO 1:1 offers 1:1 magnification at a working distance of 100mm (which translates into a focusing distance of 230mm from the sensor plane) and is a full stop faster than most other macro lenses manufactured today.
