Tiffen Photo fx 5.0 and Tiffen Photo fx Ultra 5.0 for iOS

Tiffen has released updates to Tiffen Photo fx and Tiffen Photo fx Ultra. The apps now provide a number of ways to share enhanced or retouched images, allow users to save their favorite Photo fx looks into presets and import into Tiffen Dfx 3 and provide faster processors. Additionally, the Tiffen Photo fx Ultra version now supports the high-resolution Retina display of the new iPad. Tiffen Photo fx 5.0 and Tiffen Photo fx Ultra 5.0 apps are available today for $2.99 and $4.99.

oneSafe Photos for iOS

Lunabee has released oneSafe Photos, its latest app for iPhone and iPad, which safeguards personal pictures and private videos on a user’s device inside a locked vault. Featuring hardware encryption, a full-screen viewing mode and built-in search functionality, oneSafe Photos is easy to set up: users only need to choose a 4-digit PIN, password, or visual pattern. They can lock the vault with the touch of a button or automatically when they leave the app. Additionally, the app features an option for double protection. This “vault within a vault” is designed to protect highly valuable information and is only accessible after entering a second password. oneSafe Photos is available on iTunes for $0.99.

Process for iOS

Process for iOS allows users to create their own photo effects and presets. “Built on Core Image and OpenGL, Process is made for speed,” the developers say. Every adjustment made in Process is applied non-destructively and instantaneously. These adjustments can be grouped as “processes” or presets, which are essentially custom effects. Both outlandish, unique effects, as well as quick common fixes can be saved, and shared with others. Process 1.1.1 is available on iTunes for $3.99.

PhotoPlace for iOS

PhotoPlace is a new iOS app that sorts geotagged photos by country, state/province and city based on the geographical co-ordinates (latitude and longitude) of the point of capture. The app has both a free and a paid (”Pro”) version, both of which are available on iTunes.

Camera Z for iPad 2 and iPhone 4

iDevelopersLab has announced Camera Z for iPad 2 and iPhone 4. Camera Z is a photography app that allows you to take photos and apply a range of effects to them. The effects can be previewed and adjusted before being applied separately or in combination with each other. Camera Z is available for $2.99 in the iTunes App Store.

View Magazine for iPad

“View” is an art photography magazine developed exclusively for the visual possibilities of the iPad. Curated by photographer Alon Koppel, View Magazine features little-known photographers from around the world, most of whose work was discovered online. View’s inaugural issue launched in March 2011 and the second issue has now been released. The magazine directly supports English, Bokmål, Norwegian, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Ukrainian. View Magazine is currently free and available on iTunes.

Carrafix today released Photo Boost 1.0, their new photo enhancement application for the Apple iPhone/iPad. Utilising the multi-touch support of the devices, Photo Boost provides a number of filter effects including Stretch, Colorise, Focus, Twirl and Bump. All effects actions can be undone with a simple touch. When you’re done, you can share your art via Twitter, Facebook or email from within the application. Photo Boost 1.0 for iPhone is $1.99, Photo Boost HD 1.0 for iPad is $4.99, with both versions available on iTunes.

Panorama Free 1.0 allows users to take panoramic photos from their iPhone or iPod touch camera. The app allows to take a few photos in sequence and then the Panorama Free merges all of the photos into one, creating a panoramic photo. Panorama Free 1.0 is free of charge and available exclusively through the App Store in the Photography category.

Sort Shots iPad Edition 2.2

Sort Shots iPad Edition 2.2 allows users to import images while retaining previously assigned metadata/EXIF keywords automatically. Instantly find and view photos by simply tapping on a word. It’s the first iPad app to utilize EXIF/Metadata keywords/tags with Apple iPhoto and Aperture. Additionally, File Transfer Protocol, file renaming and a search feature have been added. Sort Shots - iPad Edition 2.2 costs $4.99 USD.

ProCamera 3.0 for iOS

Daemgen has released ProCamera 3.0 for iOS, a major update to their best-selling camera app. Improvements over the previous version include advanced picture optimisation, anti-shake image stabilisation, still/video compatibility, iOS 4 multi-tasking, auto-timer, virtual horizon, multiple compositional grid lines, photo compass, and an Expert Mode that enables the user to set and lock focus, exposure, and white balance to different areas on the display. A complete redesign, the update adds Pro FX Studio to turn photos into art, a new Pro Lab to improve picture quality, and Pro Cut Studio for leveling and cropping. The update is free to existing users.

360 Panorama 3.0 for iPhone

Colorado-based Occipital has just introduced 360 Panorama 3.0 for iPhone and iPod touch devices. Using 360 Panorama, users simply pan their camera and see the application “paint” the panoramic scene in front of them from live video. Moments later the panorama is ready to be saved, emailed or uploaded via Twitter. 360 Panorama 3.0 requires iOS 4.0 or later, and is temporarily on sale for $0.99 USD (normally $2.99) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Photography category.

AutoStitch 3.1 for iPhone

The new AutoStitch 3.1 brings significant improvements in panoramic photography to users of the iPhone 4 and the new iPod touch 4G. While AutoStitch has already been widely used on these new devices, Version 3.1 introduces some important new features, including multi-tasking to complete a stitsch while a user runs other apps, improved Facebook uploads and the option of entering a caption directly from the app. Many other small interface improvements and bug fixes are included. AutoStitch 3.1 is $2.99 and available through the App Store.
