JP Distribution has announced the UK availability of the Gepe Card Safe Extreme “All In One” memory card protector. Somerset-based start-up Phlib have launched a new 3D magnetic frame. Like their other frames, you get the option of 27 single photos or the ‘photo explosion’, which is 1 image split into 27 pieces and spread over the entire frame. Photos are held to a sleek, metal, skeleton frame by tiny but powerful magnets. The novelty of the 3D Phlib frame is that it fits into the corner of the room (two walls and the ceiling).

ChromaLuxe has launched customisable ChromaLuxe Flex Frame for the iPhone 4/4S, recently released iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy SIII. Profoto has announced a new line of softboxes. The company’s RFi softboxes are available in 12 sizes and four models: rectangular, square, octagonal and strip. The “RF” in RFi stands for “recessed front”. The recessed front minimizes stray light. It is also used for mounting the optional Softgrid. The Softgrid is a clever tool that creates an even more directed light, which in turn allows for even more precise light shaping. Other optional tools include the Flat Front Diffuser and the Stripmask. You will not need to worry about what strobes you are using either, as the new speedring adaptors make the RFi softboxes compatible with more than 20 different flash brands.

The HiLO Lens redirects the iPhone and iPad camera 90 degrees so it becomes easy to get more creative angles in your photos. With the HiLO Lens the tablet can be held at waist level and the photo of the horizon framed while looking down at the iPad screen. The Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign has been launched to bring HiLO Lens into production. Liquid Image has launched a new waterproof housing for the company’s EGO WiFi HD action camera. Depth rated to 40m/130ft, the new housing features a compact design,  adjustable flat adhesive mount and two buttons that allow the user to toggle between the camera’s video and still modes. Developed in partnership with Samsung, the Google Nexus 10 is an Android 4.2 powered 10” tablet with a 2560x1600-pixel display boasting a resolution of 300ppi. The panel’s aspect ratio is 8:5 (or, as display manufacturers like to put it, 16:10), which falls between the classic 3:2 proportion of photos taken by most 35mm film cameras and digital SLRs, and the widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio of HD movies. Think Tank Photo has announced that in November it will add two new laptop-carrying sizes to its “Retrospective” shoulder bag line. Samsung today announced an expanded line of advanced SD and microSD cards with the introduction of a new Pro Series. Offering capacities up to 64GB, write speeds up to 40MB/s and transfer speeds up to 80MB/s, the new cards are currently on display at the PhotoPlus International Conference + Expo. Tiffen has unveiled the new Lowel GL-1 Power LED Light at the 2012 PDN PhotoPlus Expo (booth 545), held at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City. The Lowel GL-1 Power LED is a battery-powered, focusable and dimmable, photo-quality tungsten colour (3000-Kelvin) LED light. This means users can control the diameter of the light beam, focusing from a tight spot to a wide flood. The beam is very even, from edge to edge, with no hot spots. BosStrap has announced a new Ultra Light Hand Band (ULHB). “It attaches to the right camera strap lug, without the cumbersome bulk of a typical had strap,” the company explains. “Like all BosStrap product, the ULHB does not use the tripod socket as an attachment point, so does not need to be removed to when connecting a camera to a tripod.  The unobtrusive ULHB can be used with or without the BosStrap Sliding Sling Strap System, since the ULHB attaches to the right camera strap lug only.” The BosStrap Ultra Light Hand Band is available for $11.95.

Cokin has announced a new Snap! Kit for Compact System Cameras (CSCs). Including an adaptor ring, a filter holder, a full Neutral Density filter (ND4) and a graduated Sunset filter, the kit is available in five different sizes: Ø37, Ø40.5, Ø43, Ø49 and Ø52. The Cokin Snap! Kit will be available in stores early November 2012.
