With the new Weye Feye equipment from Xsories, available in the UK from Ultrasport, Canon and Nikon DSLR owners can now control their camera settings from up to 80 metres away. Compatible with a number of camera models, the Weye Feye enables you to retrieve photos, even in raw format, from the camera and transfer them to your smartphone/tablet using bespoke Android and iOS apps. With live view available via the apps you take control of the camera settings - ISO, white balance, aperture, speed, for either photo or video - and then take your pictures. The unit has its own battery and server and operates with 802.11n Wi-Fi technology, ensuring a powerful signal with high speeds and a larger range. The Weye Feye is available through select retailers for less than £200.

Ikelite has launched two distinct underwater housings for Canon's latest offering in the G series. The Ikelite TTL Housing for the Canon Powershot G16 (£549.99) features a large, simple dial directly above the camera's LCD monitor that acts as a remote control for Ikelite DS-series strobes. An aluminium tray with left-hand rubberised grip is included with the Ikelite TTL housing for the Canon G16, providing balance and comfortable hold. The TTL housing will be available in December. The Ikelite Fibre Optic Housing (£449.99) is a more compact offering geared toward owners of optical strobes. This housing is just as rugged as the TTL version, but shrunk way down with comfortable thumb grips replacing the tray and handle assembly. The Fibre Optic housing will be available later this month.

Joby has revealed its latest product, the Pro Sling Strap. With its patent-pending SpeedCinch pulley system, the Pro Sling Strap length dynamically adjusts, letting photographers quickly secure their DSLR camera in one moment and shoot in the next. SpeedCinch has two modes: a fast-cinch mode for instant deployment and a locked mode where photographers can run, hike or bike without putting their DSLR in harm's way. ExpoImaging has introduced the ExpoDisc 2.0 Professional White Balance Filter for digital cameras. The original ExpoDisc Professional White Balance Filter was available in separate Neutral and Portrait (warming) versions. ExpoDisc 2.0 combines these versions into a single tool. ExpoDisc 2.0 includes two levels of custom warming gels which can be inserted into recesses on the face of the ExpoDisc, enabling photographers to add varying degrees of warmth for pleasing skin tones. The ExpoDisc 2.0 will initially be available in a 77mm filter size with more sizes to follow. As with the original ExpoDisc, a larger ExpoDisc 2.0 can be used with smaller filter size lenses by simply holding the ExpoDisc 2.0 over the lens during the white balance setting procedure. The ExpoDisc 2.0 77mm White Balance Filter retails for $49.95.

Triggertrap's Redsnap accessory, a modular camera trigger for high-speed, camera-trap and time-lapse photography, has exceeded its funding goal of $50,000 on Kickstarter by nearly 6 times. Billed as "one of the fastest, easiest to use, and most affordable high-speed flash- and camera triggers money can't yet buy," Triggertrap Redsnap uses interchangeable sensor modules that you can snap on when you need them, and tuck away in your camera bag when you don't. It has three outputs, so you can hook up three cameras, three flashes, or a combination of both. It also has a special connector allowing it to talk to the Triggertrap Mobile App for iOS and Android. With over £288,000 pledged, Triggertrap Redsnap has exceeded all of its stretch goals, and will go into production in the first half of 2014.

Tucson, Arizona based photographer Spencer Boerup has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund a new, magnetic system of mounting flash modifiers that works with almost any strobe. "For photographers, attaching a flash modifier is a chore," Boerup says. "Either you need a special mount designed just your flash, or you have to use velcro, elastic, or a whole slew of other materials just to get your modifiers to stay in place." Magmod promises to change it all. Each Magmod modifier attaches to your speedlight by magnetising to the MagGrip, an elastic,one-size-fits-all band that stretches around the flash head. The system is modular - in addition to the MagGrip, it currently includes the MagGrid honeycomb grid and the MagGel Kit, which comprises a gel slot and various colour temperature modifying gels. You can add as many modifiers as you want, simply stacking one on top of the other. Apple's new iPad mini with Retina display is now available fot purchase in the UK. This new tablet offers a 7.9" backlit IPS panel with 2048x1536 pixels for a resolution of 326ppi.
