Gitzo has launched two best in class products developed especially for Sony α7 and α9 cameras: the Traveler α tripod and L-Bracket α. Both new products feature a tailored design solution to perfectly fit Sony α7 and α9 camera models, helping increase grip and stability for precise framing and extraordinary composition.

CamFi has added a focus stacking feature for Sony a7 iii and Sony a7r iii cameras to its wireless camera controller. The focus stacking lets photographers shoot an object from near to far automatically. It does not limit the number of steps taken, as long as the lens can support it. The new CamFi update also adds a touch focus feature, which allows the user to touch the mobile or tablet screen to set the proper focus.

The new Metabones Contax N-Mount to Sony E-Mount Speed Booster and Smart Adapter allow Contax N mount lenses to be used on Sony mirrorless cameras.

The Metabones Contax N-Mount to Sony E-Mount Smart Adapter and Contax N-Mount to Sony E-Mount Speed Booster ULTRA are available now for $399 and $649 respectively.

Olympus today launches a cashback promotion on its flagship system camera model OM-D E-M1 Mark II and most M.Zuiko PRO lenses. All E-M1 Mark II purchases made between 01.09.2018 and 15.01.2019 are entitled to a cashback reward of 200 EUR. Additionally, customers may add up to three M.Zuiko PRO lenses to their purchase and save 150 EUR per lens totalling the cashback reward up to 650 EUR.

Fujfilm have launched a comprehensive series of touch and try days in the UK for the new X-T3 mirrorless camera.

MTF Services has unveiled a complete range of 4 world-first lens adapters for film-makers for Nikon’s new full-frame mirrorless camera system, the Z-Series.

The newly announced full-frame, Nikon FX-format Z mount mirrorless cameras, lenses and lens mount adapter will be on show at Photokina 2018. Photokina takes place in Cologne, Germany and is open to the public from 26 to 29 September 2018.

Aurora Aperture has announced the development of drop in filters for the Canon EOS R mirrorless camera.

Filters under development for the Canon RF mount adapter include:

• Fixed neutral density (ND) filters family: PowerND™
• Variable ND filter family: PowerXND™ II 128 (1 – 7 stops) and 2000 (5 – 11 stops)
• Circular polarized (CPL) filter: PowerCPL™
• Also under development is a special tray to fit in the EF-to-RF adapter to control filter rotation externally

The Transmitter PRO for Fujifilm cameras is available on September 18th, which provides full compatibility with Elinchrom flash units and includes TTL functionality for the latest ELB 500 TTL. The price will be $249 USD / €249 EUR / £229 GBP.

The Canon EOS R full-frame mirrorless camera features the Worlds fastest autofocus of 0.05sec which is functional down to -6EV, a 30 megapixel full-frame sensor, touch and drag AF with 5,655 AF positions that can be selected virtually anywhere in the frame, a magnesium alloy body, 4K video recording, truly silent shooting, and an EVF with 100% coverage and 3.69 million dots.

The Canon EOS R system has now been officially announced – “This is the first chapter of a new story”. Development of an entirely new mount, plus full-frame sensor, that has been built from the ground up. A new 54mm internal diameter lens mount with short back focus allows for greater freedom for optical design, with a 12-pin data communication system.

The EOS R is made for video, offering 4K recording with full audio control, 10-bit output over HDMI, a vari-angle screen, 12 stops of dynamic range at ISO 400, and 5-axis movie IS.

The Canon EOS R is “Our most personal camera yet” – almost every control on the camera is customisable. Adapters are an integral part of the EOS R system, with 3 new lens mount adapters allowing backwards compatibility with almost all EF lenses ever released.

The Canon EOS R full-frame mirrorless camera is scheduled to be available in October 2018 for an estimated retail price of $2299* for the body only. It will also be sold as a body-and-lens kit with the new RF 24-105mm F4 L IS USM lens for $3399*.

Canon is also introducing a new compact and lightweight Speedlite, the EL-100. Designed for photographers who are just beginning to use an external flash or are in need of a secondary unit, the new Speedlite delivers both soft and natural lighting reproduction. The Canon Speedlite EL-100 will be available for purchase in October 2018 for an estimated retail price of $199.99.

Canon have unveiled three new lenses - the EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III USM, EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM and EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM.

The EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III USM and the EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM are the world’s lightest 400mm f/2.8ii and 600mm f/4 lenses, making them ideal for action and wildlife photography.

The EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM is a premium EF-M lens designed to be fast, discreet and capable of delivering exceptional detail and clarity.

In addition to Nikon and (possibly) Canon, Panasonic are the latest rumoured entrants to the red-hot full-frame mirrorless camera market.

43rumors have exclusively spilled the beans that the first ever Panasonic full-frame mirrorless camera will be unveiled at the Photokina show in Germany on September 25th in prototype form, with a final product to be released in the first half of 2019. Could we see a full-frame version of the popular Lumix GH5 camera?! (pictured above)

They've even gone so far to quote no fewer than 3 excited sources as saying - “as exciting as the Nikon Z7 announcement“, “more exciting“ and “video performance is superb“ - although they've declined to say who or even what their credentials are.

Panasonic are currently running a teaser countdown campaign for their Photokina press conference, and they do have a history of unveiling important products at the show, while 43rumors have rather boldly claimed that their story is "almost certainly correct!", so it must be true.

It would require a rather seismic shift from a company that has invested 10 years worth of time and money into the Four Thirds format, though, with the need to create a whole new system of full-frame bodies and lenses from scratch at just the moment when giants Nikon and (maybe) Canon are joining the ever-so-successful Sony at the high-end of the market. That would be a brave, but perhaps necessary, move indeed...

Nikon Japan have issued an apology stating that some Nikon Z7 mirrorless camera pre-orders will not be fulfilled in September 2018. In addition, some Nikkor Z 35mm f/1.8 S and 500mm f/5.6 E PF ED VR pre-orders will also be delayed. The Nikon Z6 camera appears to be unaffected so far.
