Hasselblad is expanding the XCD lens range to a total of nine lenses in 2018 with the addition of the XCD 135mm f/2.8 and XCD 80mm lenses. The XCD 135mm f/2.8 lens comes with a dedicated 1,7x converter that extends the tele lens to 230mm f/4.8, while the XCD 80mm is set to become the highest aperture lens that Hasselblad has ever introduced. 

In addition, the previously announced XCD 22mm ultra-wide-angle lens has been updated to 21mm with an aperture of f/4.0, the XCD 35-75mm zoom lens will have f/3.5-4.5, and the XCD 65mm lens will have f/2.8.

Panasonic is offering up to £100 (€120) cashback when purchasing a Lumix or Lumix G-Series camera and £100 (€120) off Panasonic and Panasonic Leica Lenses. All cashback is available from 25^th October 2017 – 30^th January 2018 from participating retailers.

The Sony FE 400mm F2.8 GM OSS is a new super-telephoto prime lens that offers a fast f/2.8 maximum aperture and G Master image quality. Currently in development with a target launch date of Summer 2018, the FE 400mm F2.8 is aimed at professional sports, news and wildlife photographers.

The Sony FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS is a new standard zoom lens that features the commonly used 24 to 105mm focal length range with outstanding G Lens imaging performance and the most lightweight design in its class.

The FE 24-105mm F4 will ship in Europe in November 2017, priced at approximately £1,200, and $1,300 in the US.

The Sony A7R III is a new compact system camera with a 42.4 megapixel back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor with 15-stops of dynamic range, continuous shooting speeds at up to 10 fps with full AF/AE tracking, 399 phase-detection AF points, 5-axis optical in-body image stabilization and 4K video quality.

The Sony A7R III will ship in Europe in November 2017, priced at approximately £3,200, and $3,200 in the US.

Panasonic has released a new firmware update for the Panasonic GH5 Micro Four Thirds compact system camera. As preannounced back in August, Version 2.0 enables tethered shooting via USB, using the “LUMIX Tether” PC software. Users can control the camera by connecting it to a PC via a USB. It lets them view the image on a large PC screen while shooting, which is helpful in commercial photoshoots of portraits, products, etc where continuous confirmation is required. The firmware also improves AF performance, enables faster shooting in 4K Photo and 6K Photo modes, adds an additional ALL-Intra-I Video Recording mode, 4K HDR video recording, various enhancements to the Anamorphic video recording mode and the in-body image stabiliser, and much more

The Fujinon GF 45mm F2.8 R WR lens will be released in November 2017. The Fujinon GF 45mmF2.8 R WR is a highly versatile wide angle lens with a focal length equivalent to 36mm (on a 35mm format) and maximum F2.8 aperture. Thanks to its compact and lightweight design (weighing only 490g), this lens is ideal for street and documentary photography. The Fujinon GF 45mm F2.8 R WR lens will be available in November 2017, with an RRP of £1699.

The Fujinon XF 80mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro is the first 1.0x magnification mid-telephoto macro lens for the X Series range. This lens features a focal length equivalent to 122mm (on a 35mm format), a maximum aperture of F2.8. The lens supports hand-held shooting thanks to a powerful image stabilizer and ultra-lightweight design. The Fujinon XF 80mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro will be available in November 2017, with an RRP of £1249.
