Pentax M30TrustedReviews have reviewed the Pentax M30 camera, which offers 7.1 megapixels, Digital Shake Reduction and Face Recognition AF and AE in an ultra-slim body.

“Unfortunately this heavy file compression does nothing to help with picture quality, which is a pity because the M30 needs all the help it can get in this department. Unusually for a Pentax camera the main cause of image quality problems is the lens, which causes heavy barrel distortion at wide angle, and pincushion distortion combined with appallingly bad corner blurring at medium zoom settings and close range.”

Kodak V803DCResource have reviewed the Kodak EasyShare V803 camera which offers 8 megapixels, a 2.5 inch LCD screen, 3x optical zoom lense and up to ISO 1600.

“The Kodak EasyShare V803 is a camera that’s average in almost all respects. About the only thing that distinguishes it from the rest of the compact camera crowd is its stylish and choice of eight different colors. While the V803 is fairly capable and quite a value for the money, ultimately there are better options out there.”

Sony W35CNET have reviewed the Sony W55 camera, which offers 7.2 megapixels, Real Imaging Processor, ISO 1000 and a 3x optical zoom lens.

“Overall, we found the DSC-W55’s photos clear and pleasing. Despite the slight softening of some finer details, photos looked crisp. Colors generally reproduced well, though users should remember to switch to the tungsten white-balance setting when shooting indoors—the W55’s automatic white balance fared poorly in our difficult tungsten-lit test shots, rendering harsh and yellow.”

Pentax T30ePhotoZine have reviewed the new Pentax T30 compact digital camera, which features 7.1 megapixels, a 3 inch touch-screen LCD display, Face Recognition Auto Focus and Auto Exposure, plus a high ISO Digital Shake Reduction mode.

“The build quality is very good with a matt metal body and chrome trim. The zoom rocker is solid, and the two buttons on the back, next to the large and very pleasing 3in LCD, are easy to press and activate. The zoom, when activated, emerges from the body and while slightly wobbly, is made of three concentric metal rings so feels reasonably solid as well. The Optio T30 is also quite thin and, since it lacks any really awkward protuding elements, can easily be slipped into pockets.”

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N2Megapixel.net have reviewed the 10 megapixel Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N2 camera.

“Nevertheless, while offering an increase in image resolution over last year’s model, it avoids taking away features its predecessor had, and does not introduce an increase in noise. So, put simply, the N2 can be thought of as more bang for less buck, since its price is considerably lower than the N1 commanded at its introduction and it offers a higher resolution while retaining the same high image quality.”

Panasonic DMC-TZ3PopPhoto have just reviewed the Panasonic DMC-TZ3 camera, which fits a 10x optical zoom, 7.2 megapixels and 3 inch LCD screen into a compact, stylish body.

“Our single biggest criticism of the TZ1 was its mediocre noise performance. That was then, using the Venus II image processing engine. The TZ3 is now, with the lastest Venus III engine. Noise is handled much better in the TZ3. It doesn’t score the lowest numbers we’ve ever seen, but scores much better than its predecessor. It only creeps into “Unacceptable” territory at ISO 1250.”

Casio EX-V7CNET have reviewed the Casio EX-V7, the world’s slimmest digital camera with a 7X optical zoom lens (equivalent to 38-266mm on a 35mm film camera).

“Given this camera’s price range, we would’ve liked to see better image quality. While adequately sharp, images still appeared just slightly soft when viewed at full size and we also spied a minor amount of image artifacts unrelated to ISO noise. Colors, while generally accurate, seemed a bit washed out.”

Kodak V1003CNET have reviewed the Kodak V1003 camera, which offers 10 megapixels, 2.5 inch LCD screen, 3x optical zoom lens and up to ISO 1600.

“Like its little brother, the EasyShare V803, noise and artifacts plagued the V1003’s images, softening and obscuring fine details. Photos shot at settings as low as ISO 400 displayed notable amounts of grain, which only grew worse at higher ISO settings. At ISO 1600, static-like speckles completely covered the image, softening all but the largest and most prominent details and rendering it almost completely unusable.”

Olympus SP-550 UZDPReview have reviewed the new Olympus SP-550 UZ. This is the first digital camera to offer an 18x optical zoom lens, equivalent to 28-504mm.

“Olympus decided it had to come back with a bang, and that the marketing men looked at the existing market leaders and decreed that the SP-550UZ had to be bigger and better in every respect - even if doing so required more than a little smoke and mirrors. And so we got a camera with the highest sensitivity (albeit at massively reduced resolution), the highest frame rate (erm, albeit at reduced resolution) and, of course, the biggest zoom range (albeit one that struggles to focus at the long end).”

Canon Powershot A550DCResource have reviewed the 7.1 megapixel Canon PowerShot A550, which has a 2 inch LCD screen, and 4x zoom lens.

“The Canon PowerShot A550 is a very good entry-level digital camera, and one that I can recommend easily. I’m going to do something a little unusual, though: I’m going to recommend that you pay $30 more for its big brother, the PowerShot A560. Why? For the speed and improved photo quality of the DIGIC III processor, a larger/sharper LCD, longer movie record times, and a tool that ends the annoying redeye problem that has plagued the A-series cameras for some time.”

Canon A570 ISCNET have reviewed the Canon A570 IS compact digital camera, which offers a 7.1 megapixel sensor, 4x optical zoom lens, Face Detection Technology and Red-Eye Correction, plus an Optical Image Stabilizer to combat camera shake and full manual control.

“Like a lot of Canon’s new cameras, the A570 IS includes a Digic III processor chip, which means it also has Canon’s face detection. In our field tests, the system quickly and accurately identified faces. Once it identifies them, the system uses your subject’s face to focus and meter the scene. Another feature that comes along with Digic III is in-camera red-eye removal. In this case, Canon lets you pluck the red pupils from your portrait victims in playback mode.”
