FujiFilm FinePix E510 ZoomDCResource is the first website to review the 5 megapixel FujiFilm FinePix E510 Zoom.

“There are many things to like about the FinePix E510: it has good photo quality (though with some issues described below), reasonably fast performance, a wide-angle lens, large LCD display, and support for conversion lenses. The two standout features on that list are the lens and LCD. The lens, which starts at 28mm, is great for indoor shots. Usually you have to buy a conversion lens to cover that much area, but not on the E510.”

Kodak Easyshare DX7630CNET have just reviewed the new 6 megapixel Kodak Easyshare DX7630.

“One of the more affordable 6-megapixel models on the market, the Kodak EasyShare DX7630 continues the line’s tradition of user-friendliness but takes it up a notch with a few manual controls and high resolution. If you’re looking for extensive high-end features, however, you’d best look elsewhere—this has just the basics.”

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-L1Steves Digicams have published a First Look at the 4 megapixel Sony Cyber-shot DSC-L1 that was announced yesterday.

“Like most of Sony’s Cyber-shot cameras, the DSC-L1 model has speedy auto-focus and auto-exposure options to snap the best picture the first time. You can quickly select the best setting based on the shooting conditions by choosing from one of seven preset modes, including twilight, snow, beach and candle.

The DSC-L1 also features four newly developed technologies - including a linear focus drive and a compact high-resolution optical system - that combine to produce its ultra-small 3x optical lens. This lets you zoom in for crisp images of a flower or zoom out for a far-away shot of the game-winning goal, all the while staying in sharp focus.”

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-V3Steves Digicams have published a First Look at the 7 megapixel Sony Cyber-shot DSC-V3 that was announced yesterday.

“The built-in flash automatically pops up (OK it doesn’t actually “pop up,” it rotates from closed to open) when needed and has modes for Auto flash, Red- Eye Reduction, Slow Synchro and Flash Cancel. It uses a pre-flash for precise metering of the exposure. It also has auto daylight synchro fill flash for backlit or shadowed subjects as well as dynamic flash white balance for greater color accuracy. The working range for the flash is 1.6 to 11.5 feet (0.5 to 3.5m).”

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-V3DPReview have published an extensive preview of the 7 megapixel Sony Cyber-shot DSC-V3 that was announced yesterday.

“The top of the camera is straightforward enough, shutter release button, mode dial, night framing / night shot button and power button. Sony has gone for larger shiny buttons for the top of the camera and although they look a little awkward they’re actually well placed. Overhanging the rear of the camera and ‘under your thumb’ is the multi-function jog dial (it has a click ‘pressed’ function too) which can be used to change value settings such as shutter speed, aperture, exposure compensation. This dial can also be used to browse images in play mode. My only gripe would be that Sony still stick with having a separate play mode on the mode dial, a shift to shooting priority play would be far better.”

FinePix S7000DigitalCameraInfo.com have reviewed the Fuji FinePix S7000, which is the successor to the popular FinePix S602 model. The S7000 uses Fuji’s 4th Generation Super CCD HR with 6.3 Million Effective Pixels output and 12.3 million recorded pixels.

“The Fuji FinePix S7000’s price falls right in the middle of SLR and point-and-shoot, much like its style and design. For US$559 you are making quite an investment, but there are a lot of features and control that comes along with this camera and more importantly room to grow. If coming from a point-and-shoot perspective it?s hard to complain about the price when there is so much offered by one camera. It’s not as advanced as a digital SLR, but then again you’re not paying SLR prices either. I would venture to say that you are getting a fair deal for this camera’s suggested price.”

Canon Digital Ixus 430Digital Camera Magazine have just reviewed the 4 megapixel Canon Digital Ixus 430.

“As a general all-rounder the Ixus 430 is a stylish piece of kit that’s more than adequate for everyday shots. Some of the camera’s navigation takes a little getting used to but once familiar with it, the quick one push to major functions is useful. The overall image quality at the lower ISO setting is excellent, but in some lighting conditions, ISO200 and above, the images produced are grainy. Overall image quality is reasonable but no better than other cameras in this price bracket. In high contrast situations detail can be lost and the appearance of blue fringing becomes apparent. The small flash works well and is powerful enough for most situations that you?ll need it for.”

Centon DC5Digital Camera Magazine have reviewed the Centon DC5, a 5-megapixel digital camera that retails for just £199! Maybe this is one of the reasons why…

“The five megapixel CCD produces an image size of 2,560x1,920 pixels. That should be enough to produce some good quality A3 prints. However, the first thing you notice about the images produced is the sickly yellowish and green hue of the photos. That, of course, is a nuisance, but curable. However, what isn?t is the quality of the image processing. It really is quite unnatural. Zoom into an image, and instead of seeing well-formed pixels, there?s an odd arrangement of over processed and jagged clumps with ugly JPEG artefacts.”

Samsung Digimax 301Digital Camera Magazine have just reviewed the entry-level 3 megapixel Samsung Digimax 301.

“Getting back to more important stuff, one of the major drawbacks of this camera is the lack of optical zoom, even at this money. Unless you?re really on a tight budget, it’s rarely worth settling for an exclusively digital zoom, even on an entry level camera. The zoom on the 301 is so compromised, it’s hardly worth mentioning, and we ended up walking closer to an object to shoot it rather than relying on the zoom. “

Kodak Easyshare LS743Digital Camera Magazine have just reviewed the 4 megapixel Kodak Easyshare LS743 digital camera.

“A review of a Kodak camera cannot pass without reference to the EasyShare system. More than just a brand of cameras, Kodak EasyShare is marketed as a complete digital photography solution. The LS743 can be used as a standalone product, but it comes into its own when used alongside other EasyShare products. The first of these, the software, is included in the box. Kodak has made massive strides here and the result is a useful application that combines the usual tools ? editing, managing, sharing ? into a single programme. Advanced editing features are few and far between, but as a one-stop shop for managing your digital library, it?s excellent.”

KODAK EASYSHARE CX7330Digital Camera Info have just reviewed the Kodak Easyshare CX7330.

“Ease of use is where the entire EasyShare series shines. While the CX7330 contains virtually no manual control options and ultimately restricts its users to point and shoot controls, for automatic, effortless images and prints, you can?t beat it. Images are instantly recorded with proper exposure and can be printed with a single button. This is the way to go for the point and shoot user who is far more interested in capturing moments and evens then exploring the photographic nature of their camera. If room for growth is not of importance, there is no reason to hold out on the EasyShare CX7330. This is the most simplistic do-it-all-for-you camera I have ever come across and truly a gem for the former disposable 35mm users who is looking to move into the digital medium.”

HP Photosmart 945Imaging Resource have published their review of the HP Photosmart 945 digital camera, which features a 5.3-megapixel total resolution and 56x total zoom (8x optical zoom). The HP Photosmart 945 digital camera is available now and has an estimated U.S. retail price of $549.

“I found my view of the HP 945 evolving quite a bit as I worked with it. My initial reaction was pretty negative - It just seemed bulky and clunky, and so sloooow in the rapid-fire environment of our test studio. Looking at its images up-close on the computer screen, the way the Digital Flash feature emphasized image noise in the shadow areas led me to largely write it off as a marketing gimmick. When I actually went out into the field with the camera for some more laid-back shooting though, I found myself changing my mind, and ended up liking it quite a bit.”
