The Pentax K-70 is a new all-weather digital SLR camera featuring a hinged LCD screen, Hybrid AF system, a top sensitivity setting of ISO 102,400 and a 24.24-megapixel CMOS sensor with no anti-aliasing filter. Other highlights include include a newly designed grip, redesigned mode dial and control buttons on the camera’s top and rear panels to ensure exceptional handling and operation. The Pentax K-70 even provides a range of advanced features, equivalent to those available on premium models, including the PENTAX-developed Pixel Shift Resolution System; an innovative AA (anti-aliasing) filter simulator with the same moiré reduction effect as an optical AA filter; an optical viewfinder with nearly 100 percent field of view; and a built-in shake reduction mechanism with a shake reduction effect equivalent to approximately 4.5 stops. The body-only price is £559.99, while the Pentax K-70 + 18-135mm lens bundle can be yours for £799.99.The launch date will be announced at the beginning of July.

Ricoh have posted a firmware update for the Pentax K-1 full-frame digital SLR camera. Version 1.10 adds compatibility with the Pentax Tethered Capture Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Image Transmitter 2.2.0, and improves stability and general performance. Hasselblad has announced a H6D-50c Trade-Up promotion. "The H6D has become an instant success with orders received worldwide and has far exceeded our expectations," the company said in a statement. "Unfortunately due to the recent devastating earthquakes in Kumamoto, Japan, the suppliers of some components, including the 100MP sensor, have been affected." Nikon have issued a firmware update for the Nikon D7200 digital SLR camera. Version 1.01 fixes te following issues:
- Selecting Firmware version in the SETUP MENU would not display “C X.XX L X.XXX”.
- About 4 seconds of static could be heard on audio recorded with external HDMI recorders during movie live view.
- Exposure compensation would fail to produce the desired results if a negative value was selected when NEF (RAW) images were processed using the NEF (RAW) processing option in the RETOUCH MENU.
- February 29th would sometimes not display correctly in leap years.

Leica have released a new firmware update for the Leica S (Typ 007) medium-format DSLR camera. Version 3.0.0.0 adds automatic lens update, whereby lenses with older firmware will now be automatically recognised and updated. Further optimisations include customisability of the Live View button, as well as the shutter release, which can now be programmed for AE lock. Also new with this firmware are improved symbols for camera settings. Registered Leica S customers in the UK can log in to the Leica owners’ area and download the firmware or take their camera to a Leica Store or Leica Customer Care for a complimentary update service.

Hasselblad have launched an all-new medium-format camera. Rather than an improvement on the existing H-series cameras, the H6D range has been completely rebuilt with new technical components and an all new electronic platform. The H6D range introduces the H6D-100c, a 100MP option (pictured), and the H6D-50c with a 50MP CMOS sensor. The new models feature a wider range of shutter speeds from 60 minutes to 1/2000th of a second, increased ISO range and a faster shooting rate along with a USB 3.0 Type-C connector. The high-definition rear touchscreen LCD delivers a pin-sharp live view experience and Wi-Fi as standard, a HDMI connector, for external monitor connectivity, completes the tool set. Built-in dual card slots allow enhanced media capability; a CFast slot allows for high-speed capture and an SD card slot enables maximum compatibility. Additionally, the H6D-100c brings 4K video capability to the medium-format world. The Hasselblad H6D-50c is priced at €22,900. The H6D-100c will be available for €28,900.

Canon today unveiled a new entry-level EOS digital SLR camera – the EOS 1300D. The 18-megapixel APS-C model includes Wi-Fi and Dynamic NFC functionaliy, a 3-inch 920k-dot rear screen, and a sensitivity range of ISO 100-6,400 (expandable to ISO 12,800). The camera's new "white priority" Auto White Balance setting enables users to create images with a more neutral tone when shooting under incandescent lighting. Videos can be recorded in Full HD resolution, with full manual control over exposure and gain. Using Video Snapshot mode, users can also record a series of short clips, which can be automatically joined together in a slick video sequence that shows a summary of their day. The Canon EOS 1300D is available from early April for £289.99/€ 399.99 (body only). Kit prices are £369.99 / €519.99 / 549.99 for the 1300D + 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II bundle and- £329.99/€459.99 for the camera + EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 DCIII kit. The Canon EOS 1300D is marketed as the Rebel T6 in the US.
