The Samyang 85mm F1.2 and 14mm F2.4 are the first lenses in in Samyang's new premium lens line-up. The manual-focus 85mm F1.2 is the brightest lens in existing full frame DSLR lenses, while the 14mm F2.4 is equipped with the most advanced optical technology among Samyang lenses, featuring 18 elements in 14 groups. The Samyang 85mm F1.2 (Canon EF) and 14mm F2.4 (Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony E) lens will be globally available within 2016, and the suggested retail prices will be announced at a later date.

ZEISS have announced three new Milvus lenses for high-end DSLR cameras - the 2.8/15, 2.8/18 and 2/135. The three new lenses ZEISS Milvus 2.8/15, Milvus 2.8/18 and Milvus 2/135 expand the Milvus family that was introduced last September, bringing the total number of focal lengths to nine. The delivery worldwide of the three new lenses will begin at the end of October 2016. Sales prices are EUR 2,699 (including 19% VAT) or USD 2,699 (excl. VAT) for the ZEISS Milvus 2.8/15; EUR 2,299 (including 19% VAT) or USD 2,299 (excl. VAT) for the ZEISS Milvus 2.8/18; and EUR 2,199 Euro (including 19% VAT) or USD 2,199 (excl. SIGMA is entering into the cinema lens market by releasing a new line of SIGMA CINE LENSES, designed specifically for cinematography. For the first phase, SIGMA will release two zoom lenses in Japan and the USA for Canon EF and Sony E mount camera systems. Another zoom lens and five prime lenses will be released to the market in sequence from 2017 onward.

Canon have released thirteen full-resolution sample photos and two reduced-resolution sample videos shot on their new EOS 5D Mark IV digital SLR camera. Captured with a variety of lenses including the EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM, EF11-24mm f/4L USM, EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM, EF100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM, EF600mm f/4L IS II USM and new EF24-105mm f/4L IS II USM, these Canon EOS 5D Mark IV samples were taken at  sensitivity settings ranging from ISO 100 to ISO 6,400.

The new Canon EOS 5D Mark IV is the most versatile EOS DSLR camera yet. Featuring a 30.4 megapixel CMOS sensor with wide exposure latitude, 7 frames per second (fps) high speed shooting, internal 4K movie recording and built-in Wi-Fi and GPS, the 5D Mark IV fuses speed and resolution with excellent low light capability and movie functionality. The EOS 5D Mark IV is also the first EOS camera to premiere the innovative Dual Pixel RAW file format, allowing photographers to fine-tune images in post-production by adjusting or correcting the point of sharpness, shifting the foreground bokeh or reducing image ghosting.

Canon have also added the new EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM and the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM to their extensive lineup of lenses.

Finally, Canon have announced a new firmware update for the EOS-1D X Mark II. Adding IPTC support and LCD colour tone as featured in the EOS 5D Mark IV, the update also improves the network and GPS functionality. The firmware will be available in September.

The Canon Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1 is a dedicated Wi-Fi adapter for Canon’s EOS 7D Mark II, EOS 5DS and EOS 5DS R DSLR cameras. Portable and lightweight, the Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1 is the size of an SD card. A firmware update is required for all compatible models. The EOS 7D Mark II new firmware is available September 2016 and the EOS 5DS and EOS 5DS R new firmware is available November 2016. Canon has been honoured with four product awards from the European Imaging and Sound Association. The EOS 80D (pictured) has been named the ‘European DSLR Camera 2016-2017’, while the EOS-1D X Mark II took the title of ‘European Professional DSLR Camera 2016-2017’ and the EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM and the imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 received awards for ‘European Professional DSLR Lens 2016-2017’ and ‘European Photo Printer 2016-2017’ respectively. “At Canon, we understand photography doesn’t end with the press of a shutter, and are consistently striving to produce high-quality products that help novices and professionals alike to get the best from their photographs,” said Steve Marshall, Product Marketing Director, Consumer Imaging Group, Canon Europe. “Be it capture, print, store or share, every element matters, and we’re committed to ensuring Canon quality comes through at every step. The Nikon D500 has won the European Prosumer D-SLR Camera 2016-2017 award, presented by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA). The jury praised the camera's high continuous shooting speed of 10 frames per second, 153-point auto focus system and newly developed DX type sensor. "Build quality and handling are superb with a large, bright viewfinder and tilting rear touchscreen display," the EISA said. "The ability to record 4K video and Nikon’s new SnapBridge connectivity rounds off a hugely impressive digital SLR."

Ricoh have issued a firmware update for the Pentax K-70 digital SLR camera. Version 1.10 adds full support for the HD Pentax-DA 55-300mmF4.5-6.3ED PLM WR RE lens and makes it possible to modify the ISO sensitivity setting between shots when using the multiple-exposure drive mode. Nikon have issued a firmware update for the Nikon D500 digital SLR camera. Version C1.02 addresses an issue that sometimes caused errors with certain UHS-II SD memory cards. "As we were able to confirm that these were read errors arising not in the camera but in the cards themselves, we addressed the issue with a work-around that switches temporarily to UHS-I mode when a card-side error occurs in UHS-II mode," the company said in a statement. "The camera switches back to UHS-II mode when turned off and then on again or when the standby timer restarts. Card-side read errors may still occur after the update, albeit very infrequently." The Laowa Zero-D 12mm f/2.8 from Venus Optics is a new ultra wide angle lens for 35mm full-frame cameras. Available in Canon ,Nikon, Pentax and Sony E mounts, the Laowa Zero-D 12mm f/2.8 is comprised of 16 elements in 10 groups, including 2 aspherical elements and 3 elements made of glass with anomalous dispersion. This manual focus lens offers a field of view of 121.96°, 7 aperture blades, minimum focusing distance of 18cm, and an aperture range of f/2.8 - f/22. The lens is so new that we don't have an official picture yet (we've shown you the Laowa 15mm f/4 Macro lens instead), and the scheduled release date is "more likely to be August rather than July", according to distributor UK Optics Ltd.

Canon will showcase its new Canon EOS 80D and EOS M3 Video Creator Kits during VidCon 2016 at the Anaheim Convention Center, 23-25 June 2016. The EOS 80D Video Creator Kit ($2,049.00, available from August 2016) includes an EOS 80D DSLR camera and EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens, an external microphone and 32GB SD card. This kit also includes the Canon Power Zoom Adapter PZ-E1 which allows creators to smoothly control their zoom at the push of a button or right from their compatible smartphone by using the Canon Camera Connect app. The EOS M3 Video Creator Kit ($899.99, available later this month) includes an EOS M3 compact system camera and EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens, an external microphone and a 32GB SD card. The new bundles join a family of Video Creator Kits that include the EOS Rebel T6i, Rebel T5i and EOS 70D.
