The Leica APO-Summicron-SL 35 mm f/2 ASPH is a new L-Mount lens for the Leica SL full-frame mirrorless camera. The new 35mm Summicron-SL prime lens delivers extremely high image performance at its largest aperture and is ideal for shooting in difficult lighting conditions.

The APO-Summicron-SL 35 mm f/2 ASPH will be on sale in the UK from April 2019 priced at £3,900.

Samyang has launched its first two lenses in the Canon RF mount: MF 14mm F2.8 RF and MF 85mm F1.4 RF. The Samyang MF 14mm F2.8 RF is an ultra-wide-angle, manual-focus lens with excellent sharpness, even at its maximum aperture. The Samyang MF 85mm F1.4 RF is ideal for top quality portraiture and still images with its vivid colours and smooth out-focus quality.

The first two RF lenses from Samyang will be displayed at CP+ 2019. The Samyang MF 14mm F2.8 RF and MF 85mm F1.4 RF will be available during March 2019, suggested retail pricing to follow.

The new Sony FE 135mm F1.8 GM is a full-frame, large-aperture telephoto prime lens equipped with Sony’s most advanced optical technologies. The new FE 135mm F1.8 GM offers exceptionally high resolution and exquisite bokeh, two qualities that are signature attributes of Sony’s flagship G Master brand.

The FE 135mm F1.8 GM will ship in Europe in April 2019, priced at approximately €2000 / £1750 / $1900 US.

Sigma today announced 11 of its Art prime lenses will soon be available in L-Mount, plus the launch of the Sigma Mount Converter MC-21, which will allow Sigma’s SA mount and Canon EF mount lenses to be used on L-Mount camera bodies.

Pricing and availability will be announced later.

The Tokina Opera 16-28mm F2.8 is a new wide-angle zoom lens for full-frame Canon and Nikon DSLRs. This new zoom offers superior resolving ability coupled with high contrast and beautiful bokeh rendering, fast f/2.8 constant aperture throughout the zoom range and accurate AF drive system.

Available from March 15th, the Tokina Opera 16-28mm F2.8 is priced at £699 / $699.

Shoten have announced the Speedmaster 50mm F 0.95 III lens for Sony E, Canon RF and Nikon Z mirrrorless cameras. The third version of this large-aperture manual focus lens improves image quality by reviewing the optical performance.

The Speedmaster 50mm F 0.95 III lens is dues to be released in April will be on show at this week's CP+ show in Japan.

The new Samyang XP 10mm F3.5 is the World's widest, non-fisheye, distortion free prime lens for Canon and Nikon DSLR cameras. Now you can capture super-wide landscapes with 130° angle of view as well as architecture and indoor shots in super-high resolution and distortion-free.

The Samyang XP 10mm F3.5 lens will be available during March 2019 with a suggested retail price of £949.99.

Tamron has announced three new lenses - the 17-28mm F/2.8 Di III RXD for Sony FE, and the 35-150mm F/2.8-4 Di VC OSD and the SP 35mm F/1.4 Di USD for DSLR.

Tamron will display these new lenses at the CP+ 2019 show in Japan. All three lenses will be available in the middle of 2019.

The Nikon Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S is the first f/2.8 pro lens for the Nikon Z full-frame mirrorless camera system. The Nikkor Z 24–70mm f/2.8 S is a professional lens that boasts an exceptionally compact build, advanced optics, and extensive weather sealing.

The Nikon Z 24–70mm f/2.8 S will be available from April 2019 priced at £2199 / €2599 / $2299.

Canon has announced the development of six new lenses for the EOS R full-frame mirrorless camera system for release in 2019. They are the Canon RF 85mm F1.2L USM, Canon RF 85mm F1.2L USM DS, Canon RF 24-70mm F2.8L IS USM, Canon RF 15-35mm F2.8L IS USM, Canon RF 70-200mm F2.8L IS USM and the Canon RF 24-240mm F4-6.3 IS USM.

Leica have released new color variations for three established Leica M lenses: the Leica APO-Summicron-M 50 f/2 ASPH., Leica Summilux-M 28 f/1.4 ASPH. and the Leica Summaron-M 28 f/5.6.

Leica Camera is releasing the latest model of the olive green ‘Safari’ series: the limited-edition Leica M10-P ‘Safari’.

The Leica M10-P Edition ‘Safari’ body is priced at £6,900 / $8,450, while the Leica Summicron-M 50mm f/2 Edition ‘Safari’ lens is £2,300 / $2,750.

Panasonic have released an updated lens roadmap for their L-mount full-frame lenses.

In addition to the three lenses that have already been announced today, Panasonic will launch 3 more new lenses in 2019 - a 24-70mm F2.8, 70-200mm F2.8 and 16-35mm F4 - plus 1.4x and 2x teleconverters.

Then in 2020 they will add a super telephoto lens, 2 fixed focal length lenses and a macro lens to their L-mount range, bringing the total to 10.

In a separate announcement at the launch of the Panasonic S1R and Panasonic S1 cameras, Sigma have revealed that they will release 14 new L-mount lenses by the end of 2019, plus a Canon EF/Sigma SA converter.

In total, together with Leica's existing range, this means there will be 42 L-mount lenses available by the end of 2020, an impressive start to the new L-mount alliance.

The Panasonic S1R and Panasonic S1 are two new full-frame mirrorless cameras, offering 47 megapixels and 24 megapixels respectively and using the Leica L-mount. In development for the last 4 years, the Lumix S Series promises to offer “Full frame without compromise”.

We were shown a very early prototype version of the S1R/S1 back in September 2018 by Panasonic. We weren't allowed to take any photos of the camera or presentation slides, such was the high level of secrecy at the time.

Early prototype versions of the S1R and S1 were then displayed under glass at Photokina 2018, with a promised simultaneous launch date for both models of “early 2019”.

Fast forward to 31st January 2019, and we've been able to shoot with a working version of the Lumix S1R and S1 at the Global press launch in Barcelona, Spain. We've updated our initial first impressions of the cameras and new lenses with some more detailed observations.
