The Tokina FiRIN 20mm F2 FE AF is an auto-focus version of the existing FiRIN 20mm F2 FE super wide angle lens for full-frame Sony E-mount. The FiRIN 20mm F2 FE AF is fully compatible with Fast Hybrid AF system and all AF function settings, providing the same AF performance as with common E-mount AF lenses. This new lens will go on sale in Japan at the end of April 2018 and worldwide at the end of May 2018, pricing to be announced.

The Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD is a new high-speed standard zoom lens for Sony 35mm full-frame mirrorless cameras. Currently under development, the 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD is Tamron's first ever lens for the Sony FE system. It incorporates an all-new high-speed and precise AF driving system called RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) which operates with remarkable quietness, making it perfect for video use. It's also compatible with the “Direct Manual Focus (DMF)” feature that enables Sony cameras to instantly switch between autofocus and manual focus.

The Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD will be available from mid-2018, price to be announced.

The Tamron 70-210mm F/4 Di VC USD is a compact telephoto zoom lens for full-frame DSLR cameras. It features a best-in-class maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.1, internal zoom mechanism, Dual MPU (Micro-Processing Unit) design, 4 stops of VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization, and a Fluorine Coating and Moisture-Resistant Construction.

The 70-210mm F/4 Di VC USD is compatible with both the 1.4x (Model TC-X14) and 2.0x (Model TC-X20) Teleconverters. An Arca-Swiss style tripod mount is available as an optional accessory. The Tamron 70-210mm F/4 Di VC USD will be aavailable from April 2018 for £699 in the UK and $799 in the US.

The Samyang XP 50mm F1.2 is a new manual focus prime lens designed for high resolution Canon DSLR cameras. Claimed to have a resolution of more than 50 megapixels for photography and 8K for video, the Samyang 50mm F1.2 is the third lens of the premium XP series following in the footsteps of the XP 14mm F2.4 and the  XP 85mm F1.2.

The suggested retail price of the Samyang XP 50mm F1.2 is £799.00, available from March 2018.

Ahead of next month's CP+ photo show, Tamron Japan have released a teaser for a new lens on their Instagram channel. There aren't any further details yet about the new optic, so stay tuned...

The Lensbaby Burnside 35 is an entirely new kind of creative effects lens. The FUJINON MKX 18-55mm T2.9 and FUJINON MKX 50-135mm T2.9 are the first full manual cinema lenses to be compatible with the X Series camera range. These lenses deliver high optical performance and comfortable operability for professional video shooting.

The FUJINON MKX 18-55mm T2.9 and FUJINON MKX 50-135mm T2.9 lenses will be available from early Summer 2018 priced at £3499 and £3799 respectively.

The ZEISS Loxia 25mm f/2.4 is a compact wide-angle manual focus lens that will appeal to both landscape and architectural photographers.

Meyer-Optik-Görlitz have just launched the second version of their Somnium 85 F1.5 lens, known for its swirly bokeh. Currently available for pre-sale for $999, half the full price of $1999, the Somnium II 85 F1.5 is a new version of the first ever art lens that Meyer-Optik-Görlitz released, which now comes in a more modern, enhanced design with a matt black finish, improved focu ring, and clickless aperture ring for videography. The Somnium II 85 F1.5 will be handmade in Hamburg Germany and will be available in Canon-EF, Nikon-F, M42, Pentax-K, Sony-E & Fuji X mounts.

Meike are set to announce three new lenses very soon - the 50mm F/1.7, 25mm F/2.0 and 25mm T2.2 Cine. All three new Meike lenses will be manual focus and available for Canon/Nikon/Sony/Olympus/Panasonic/Fujifilm mirrorless cameras.

The new Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f/1.4 FE lens will be available in Japan on February 15th. The suggested retail price (excluding tax) will be ¥ 85000.

Fujifilm have added a new lens to their more affordable XC range of lenses, the 15-45mm F3.5-5.6 OIS PZ. This collapsible lens is the smallest and lightest (135g) zoom created for Fujifilm’s mirrorless digital camera X series range. It offers a focal length from 23mm to 69mm in the 35mm equivalent, utilises an electric zoom and includes 3-stop optical image stabilization. The FUJINON XC 15-45mm F3.5-5.6 OIS PZ lens will be available from March 2018, in Silver and Black, priced at £259.

Leica Camera has announced the first two editions of a new line of high-performance Summicron-SL lenses for the Leica SL-System; the APO-Summicron-SL 75mm f/2 ASPH. and the APO-Summicron-SL 90mm f/2 ASPH. Both lenses seamlessly work with the SL-System’s lightning-fast autofocus and, as with all SL-Lenses, have been designed and constructed in Germany with exceptional materials for a long work life.

In the USA the APO-Summicron-SL 75mm f/2 ASPH. and the APO-Summicron-SL 90mm f/2 ASPH. will be available in February.

In the UK the APO-Summicron-SL 75 mm f/2 ASPH. will be available from 25 January 2018, and the APO-Summicron-SL 90 mm f/2 ASPH. from 8 February 2018 at £3,750 and £4,100 (including VAT) respectively.

In the second half of 2018, Leica will launch two more lenses, the Summicron-SL 35 mm f/2 ASPH. and APO-Summicron-SL 50 mm f/2 ASPH.

What a strange and exciting time we live in! This is the new Tamron 100-400mm lens for full-frame DSLRs, in a Canon EF fit, mounted on the new Sony A7R III mirrorless camera, via a Sigma MC-11 adapter! Talk about worlds colliding! And it actually works too...
